apocalypsos: (work sucks)

I'm going to spend the next three hours trying to decide whether to call in sick from work. Which is stupid, because I woke up this morning feeling twice as bad as I did yesterday and I could barely breathe yesterday. See, I could get away with calling off from work just fine, I think, because Lumbergh knows damn well I haven't called off sick in over six months and at least I'm not at the other station, where the boss once convinced me to come in for four hours when I tried to call off sick simply because nobody else was trained to do data entry. Of course, if I call in sick, they might make the Grouch stay another three hours to cover my shift, they're going to have to find someone who remembered how to do some of the data entry that only I know how to do, and when I come in tomorrow, I'm going to be up to my eyebrows in packages with bad addresses that need research, which'll probably mean a twelve-hour day for me, too.

Maybe I can convince the boss to only let me come in from five to nine.

Gyah. I should not have to debate myself this much over calling in sick when I feel this weak. *headdesk*

::begin mom voice:: Girl, call the office and leave a message, turn the ringer off on the phone, and go back to bed. No sense in making yourself sicker! Rest and get well.

That's what a mom sounds like? My mother used to tell me that unless I was dropping internal organs at the floor at random intervals, I had to go to work/school. Hence, why I'm like this. *eye roll*

Call in sick. Right now. This is what sick time is for.

Take care of yourself.

Call in sick. Stay home. Drink tea. And don't feel guilty about it. You're sick.

Call in sick. You'll make yourself sicker, you'll possibly make other people sick, and you won't be an effective worker.

I hope you feel much better soon!

I know how you feel. I seldom (read:never) take sick days, because the mess I have to deal with when I get back is just not worth it ... I really, really, need a FULLY trained back-up.

But if you're feeling that week, get some rest. You'll deal with it all much easier when you're feeling better.
