I swear to God, I'm starting to think I'll write fanfic for anything. I had a passing thought about writing fanfic for The Greatest American Hero today only to have the Don and Mike show play the theme song not long after. (It was in the background during a story about the Greatest American show that the Discovery Channel and AOL are doing. I dare you to go look at the nominees, because some of them seriously made me go, "BUH?!")

Oh, and today in Totally Misunderstanding My Charlie/Claire wallpaper, I was asked about my "husband and family." YAY! I'm married to Dominic Monaghan! So what the hell am I doing here?! (Yesterday, I got a fortune in my fortune cookie that said, "You and your wife will be very happy in your life together," so I had a delayed reaction with the "husband" comment of, "Dom is a woman?!")

And we have a new pope! Then again, after looking at the pictures, we may still have the old pope, just a little livelier with some quickie plastic surgery. Just out of curiosity, are they actively trying to get that pope prophecy to come true? Supposedly, this pope is going to keel over quickly and usher in the Anti-Christ, and this guy looks like he should have disqualified himself from being the pope for beating up God in middle school.

By the way, thanks for the apcalyptic fic recs. Now I have something to read on the bus. :)

*sigh* Also, I'm missing TAR. :(

I'm still waiting for tomorrows press conference when a high-ranking Cardinal says, "No, no, we voted for John Ratzenberger (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001652/). But old Joey just seemed so excited so we let him have his fun.

Yeah, what I hear is that this guy was chosen specifically because he's 78 and supposed to die soon, letting the cardinals have time to politick and maneuver and figure out who the next pope will be without letting everyone go popeless for too long. Also, a German on my friends list assures us that we shouldn't worry too much that the new pope was in the Hitler Youth.

It's going to be pretty tough on the next guy, though. Even though he could be the nicest guy on the planet, there's still that prophecy that says the next guy is the AntiChrist, and that plays right into it. (Not that I mind, because, yay, apocalypse! ;))

For what it's worth, the link I ran across on Yahoo today about the papal prophecies quoted the bit about the last one and it basically said he reigns when the Apocalypse comes, not that he himself is the Antichrist.
