First thing accomplished today ... The Monsters of Moosic is now in the hands of other people I trust who wanted to read it. And not a lot of them at all. Three, actually, because ... well, I'm chicken. What can I say? Working on this thing for so long has made me horribly attached to the characters, and I'm antsy. *shrugs* :)

In other news, I love everything Barack Obama does and says, but then again, you knew that.

Arrested Development won USA Today's Save Our Shows poll. That's a good thing, y'all. Winning that poll won extra seasons for Angel and Enterprise, if I'm remembering correctly.

There was an auction of Titanic memorabilia that sold $150K worth of relics from the disaster. I would have loved to have gone. :(

Land developers are evicting tsunami survivors from their land. ... the fuck? Back off, asshats.

Ad blitz supporting Bush nominees -- What pisses me off about the ads I've heard on the radio is that they're so fucking condescending. "Bush has these FABOO judicial nominees who can do magic tricks and multiply large numbers in their heads and ballroom dance, because they're just THAT COOL. And we're so very, very, very, very sorry to have to tell you this, but your Democratic representative doesn't like magic tricks, hates math, and is jealous of people who can do the samba. Sad, isn't it? Let's stop him and the filibuster before he outlaws balloon animals!"

Oh, and in case you missed it because you were too busy flailing your arms in frantic worry over Not!Julia Roberts the runaway bride, North Korea test-fired a missile into the Sea of Japan. This further confirms my suspicions that I'm going to be the only one prepared and paying attention when the nuclear apocalypse starts during the finale of American Idol.

EDIT: I'm watching Ellen before I leave and Eric McCormack brought as a clip of his bad acting his episode of Highlander. HEY! Some of us actually liked that character. ;P

Why the heck can't I remember that episode of Highlander? What season was it in?

It was "Manhunt" in the fifth season. It was actually a really great episode, and he played Matthew McCormack, this Southern detective. He was better than he gave himself credit for.

Reading that article on Obama, I note that he has "a white mother from Kansas and a black father from Kenya." That must have made for an interesting childhood.

Also, I think that starting a war during the finale of American Idol would be a brilliant move. If I were attacking the United States, that's what I'd do.
