So I've watched the first two episodes of Veronica Mars. And I've already been following the show through other people's posts and TWoP summaries, but it's different when you've actually seen some of it rather than your only exposure to moving visuals from the show being in animated LJ icons.

-- Can I have a Wallace? Please? Pretty please with cherries on top and whipped cream and ... pleeeeeease? And if I get one, can I go back in time to high school and give him to my teenage self? My teenage self so could have used a Wallace.
-- You know why there are two identical-looking Ashmores on the planet? Because God loves me and wants me to be happy. Uh-huh. *nods solemnly* (Too bad he becomes an asshole later. *sigh*)
-- Logan's cute. A psychotic fuckwit, but still cute.
-- And he and Weevil are so doing it.
-- A lot.
-- Probably on the beach.
-- Did I mention they're doing it a lot?
-- In between classes?
-- At the Neptune Grand, with strawberries and champagne and gay porn and -- okay, fine, I'll shut up.
-- Daddy Mars is so adorable. He's kind of like my dad, if my dad weren't so much like Homer Simpson.
-- I really wish I knew that the sheriff was going to get eaten by a shark sometime this season.
-- Paris Hilton needs to die yesterday. Seriously. Can there be an asteroid? I'd be really happy if an asteroid were involved.
-- Also, I really hope she's drinking a lot of milk, because she's so scrawny that if she keeps swiveling her hips like that, her pelvis is going to snap in two like a wishbone.
-- Veronica's so pretty with long hair! And in that white dress! Okay, yeah, the night of the rape, but that doesn't stop her from being pretty.
-- I'd think the Veronica Mars voiceover were more annoying if I weren't about to cross over to Heaven specifically to throttle Mary Alice and crush her voice box over on Desperate Housewives.
-- I can't remember who it was who did the screencap post that showed how teenaged characters on this show actually re-wear outfits (unlike some other high school shows I can think of ... I can't seem to remember that happening on Buffy), but now I'm actually paying attention to their clothes in a, "Hey, they wore that last episode!" kind of way.

Now, to stop focusing on VM and go write. *wanders off whistling*

Apparently she's eating Carl's Jr burgers in a new ad campaign. (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20050514/ap_en_tv/people_paris_hilton) Very scary.

The first VM ep I watched was the Paris Hilton episode when it first aired. That has to be the worst introduction ep ever. I barely got through it and it completely put me off. Didn't give the show another shot until a couple of weeks ago. So glad I did.

I'd recognized a few outfits/jackets from ep to ep, especially with Veronica and Logan, but I'd never thought about the fact that "Hey, they rewear clothes, and you know that IS pretty unusual on tv."

That's just one more reason for me to love this show, though.

As far as I know, they're identical twins, although they're identical twins who are really easy to tell apart. Shawn's scrawnier, Aaron's broader, to the point that you can tell even when they're not standing next to one another.

Do you mean this picture essay (http://www.livejournal.com/users/lauranobaka/248796.html)? I saw it and was impressed that they're making a real effort to have the characters re-wear clothing and not have the unlimited tv wardrobe. Not to mention lauranobaka gathering all the screencaps together.

Yes! That's the one! I was going to go look for the link, too.

That was one of the big things that used to bother me about Buffy -- not only that she seemed to have an unlimited wardrobe, but that she had it even when she was supposedly working a minimum-wage job. And speaking as someone who used to work at Burger King ... yeah, I couldn't afford half the stuff she was wearing during that time.

At least with this show, they're making a point of not only having them wear clothes over and over again, but Veronica's clothes are decent, cheap clothes I could have seen in Marshall's this week.

Okay so I just finished watching the first two episodes...

1. Wallace is awesome.
2. Ashmores are hot... and they should be in a movie together... wow.
3. Logan & Weevil doing it? Oh how I would like to be a fly on the wall... or in the middle... whatever. But yes... there does seem to be some repressed sexual tension :)
4. I'm jealous of father/daughter relationships like Veronica & her dad.
5. I was like "please God do not let that be Paris Hilton..."
6. I think Veronica is cuter with short hair.
7. My early prediction for Lilly Kane's killer? "Teh evil sheriff" (and I'm not spoiled)

1. Incredibly awesome. You have no idea. He's like a superhero, except not. :)
3. Oh, just wait until episode 7. I've never seen a better definition of subtext becoming a lot less sub and a lot more text. Logan and Weevil is my slashy OTP for this show, but then again, most of my shippy loves for this series involve Logan.
6. I love Veronica with both haircuts, but she does look awfully cute in the flashbacks with the long hair. Then again, in the flashbacks, she does wear an alarming amount of pastels and baby pink, even for her.
