I'm starving. You know what I could go for right now if I could haev anything I wanted and calories weren't an issue? I'd have a gigantic lobster with lots of butter. And a large slab of steak that's only been allowed to look at an oven in horror before being brought to me. And a baked sweet potato the size of my head. And maybe lots of movie popcorn with tons of butter and salt.

MMMMMMMM. *stomach growls*

What would you guys have to eat if you could have anything you wanted right this instant? I don't want to be the only one wishing they were sitting in front of a GIGANTIC plate of food. *whimper*

I'm still full from lunch. Apparently, what I wanted a few hours ago was a giant spring roll, a bowl of hot and sour soup, a bowl of steamed rice, and some General Tso's chicken.

Mmmm. Man, I could go for some Chinese, too. The place near work has great seafood chowder and fried crab wontons, not mention killer friend chicken.

A big fat burger, medium rare, with bacon, lots of cheddar cheese, and mushrooms. Plus a big order of fries and onion rings. And ice cream.

Mushrooms! I want my mother's mushrooms. She gets a pound of these huge mushrooms and fries 'em in butter (yay, a heart attack you can spread over steak!) and the two of us split the entire thing while my brother and father make disgusted sounds.

Pizza. Big greasy pizza, just extra cheese. Made at a slightly skanky pizza place, but the kind run by greeks because they make the best pizza ever. Barring that, domninos because I miss my crappy delivery pizza (they won't deliver to my area of philly)

There's a restaurant, near where my grandparents live in Iowa, that does the best steaks evar, I swear. Big filets that are so tender you can cut them by breathing on them (okay, not really, but you can literally cut them with a fork), really really flavorful, drowning in butter and calories and cholestorol (I kind of ignore that part when I'm there *G*), and then herbed rice with really really rich garlic butter sauce. (I usually eat the steak first, and then soak the meat/butter juice up with the rice.)

*points up* I'd have that.

And a proper Chicago-style stuffed pizza. From Giordano's.

Well, maybe not 'and', not at the same time at least, 'cause of the whole room thing. (The steak is rich enough to fill me up, even when I was a kid and I swear there was a black hole in my stomach or something.)

I'd get the stuffed pizza from Edwardo's, but I haven't had Giordano's in awhile... mmmm... How 'bout I just say I'd get a Chicago-style stuffed pizza and leave it at that... with spinach and mushrooms.

I'd want a huge lobster, fresh and succulent with melted butter on the side; a plate of Hainanese chicken rice with the rice soaked and cooked in the chicken stock. Sauteed shrimp with squash and a selection of seafoods and vegetables. Scallops.

...

I'm making myself hungry.

My BF Brian's homemade spaghetti sauce that only qualifies as "sauce" because after simmering for 8 hours the meat breaks down into something easily pourable.

Hmm... a giant pork pie from the supermarket meats counter, an entire round thingy of Brie, dark chocolate biscuits, a pot of double Elmlea and a pot of Rodda's clotted cream. Oh, and an endless supply of Ben and Jerry's, with the emphasis on PHISH FOOD.
In fact, screw the rest, can I just have the Phish Food? Please? Pretty please with 0-point sweetener on top?

Niko Niko's feta and dip plate with tons of warm pita, omg. Feta, olives, hummous, taramasalata, and this eggplant stuff I can't remember the name of. ZOMG DELICIOUS.

Alternately, thanks to previous commentors, real pizza.

Bear claws. LOTS of bear claws. They had those things all the damn time on the Flower Gardens cruise we went on (note: dive cruise food is so not Atkins-friendly). I loved 'em before we went, and now I'm hopelessly addicted to them--even though the closest I've come to a bear claw since then is a honey bun.

Well, I had a crappy egg salad sandwich from Wawa for lunch, but I'm not hungry nonetheless. Still, right now I could go for a big plate of spaghetti, something full of carbs and very starchy. Like the really soggy stuff you get from low-end pizza places, none of this al dente business!

Also, my husband's rice. I like my rice sticky and seasoned. I could eat rice every day.

Also Tom Kai Kai. God is that good soup. Just give me the broth, though. I don't need the chunks of chicken.

A proper burger. Not fast food, a massive chunk of high-grade minced beef with herbs and onions and just a hint of garlic, grilled until it's charred on the outside and red in the middle. A couple of slices of good cheddar melted into the top of it, wrap it in fresh bread, and feed it to me.

And then some ice cream. With chocolate sauce.

oh! or a cake with cream cheese frosting.
