ACK! Bright light, bright light!

*crawls away from window squealing, hides in the closet*

EDIT: Quick question for the VM fans ... does anybody know of a site that has the exact timeline of the day of Lilly's murder? I mean, I can research it myself, but it'd take some time, obviously.

OTHER EDIT: In case you hadn't already heard, Matthew Vaughn walked off the set of X3. At this point in the production, I'm leaning more towards worrying than flailing. But there's also rumors that Joss Whedon is coming back to take over, and ... well ... I won't complain about the whole thing as long as his solution to jumping into a series in the third movie is not to start killing everyone. If there's one thing that pisses me off about Joss, it's that so far he's shown that anything remotely resembling an ending of a series or the approaching ending of a series (and we're on our third movie here, people) makes him kill people off left and right. In Buffy, he killed off Anya, Spike and a bunch of Slayers. In Angel, he killed off Wes and Gunn was damn near close to death. (And forgive me if I'm forgetting anyone, but I've avoided both finales for this exact reason.) And okay, in Firefly, he didn't get much of a chance, but then in Serenity, he supposedly kills Wash and Book.

You know, on one hand, I get what he's getting at when he does it. The heroes can't just ride off into the sunset as one big happy family. Plus, the X-Men pretty much drop dead at the drop of a hat, like those goats that pass out when you make a loud noise. But ... but he keeps killing characters I like, goddamn it. And if I go in to see X3 and he bumps off Bobby, Logan, John, Kitty, Kurt, Magneto, Mystique and/or Scott, we're going to have words. GRRRRR.

Have you seen what I've said about Serenity and Joss? He's on my shit list big time right now. BIG TIME. ::sigh:: He's gotta stop with the killing of characters that are my favs. He really does.

EXACTLY. I just want him to stop killing characters, period. He keeps killing people not because it works with the plot or it's appropriate to the situation, but because it's the end so we have to kill someone.

NO. No, you don't, you pompous ass. There are things I love about you, Joss, but I can safely say that I have never ... NEVER liked a single one of the times he's killed off a character. The closest I've come was with Joyce, but considering the kind of affect it had on Buffy's life after that ... ACK, ACK, ACK. Working in fast food? Bitch, please.

To this day, I still can't understand why the Watchers never provided an income for the Slayer. They would stand around and bitch that she was devoting far too much time to things other than her Slaying, but God forbid they eliminate one thing that was taking up her time by issuing her a fucking paycheck. You have one sole trained warrior against the forces of darkness and you're not paying her?! (On the same note, when Buffy ordered Quentin to give Giles his back pay, I kept waiting for her to say, "And I want a salary. Hell, I deserve a salary!" That was one of my biggest pet peeves about the show. Sheesh.)

I've been told he kills characters because it pleases him to see the fans go "NOOOOOOOO!!!!" The reason it pleases him is that it means if the fans go "NOOOOOOOO!!!!" like newborn Vaders it means that they loved and cared about the character, and he is thus validated as a writer.

...idiot.

... okay, reading that -- as someone who's currently trying desperately not to kill anyone just yet in my novel series -- just makes me want to smack him.

...you don't know a lot of people who've died, do you?

Oh, I do. It's not that I don't know how something like that would affect the family. I did. It was just ... it's one thing to experience it in reality and another thing to watch it on a show like that. That way, it bored the hell out of me. (I've worked in fast food. I don't need to watch someone else do it on my favorite TV show.)
