You know what would really help? If you would make hair dye packages big enough for people who don't have incredibly short hair. Because seriously, my hair doesn't even reach my shoulders and I have to buy two boxes of dye to get the job done? What the fuck, man?
Sincerely,
Me

Date: 2005-06-23 03:15 pm (UTC)When I dyed black to hide the blue for a new temp job, I bought two bottles and wound up only needing one. So when I bleached the shit out of my hair six months after that to get rid of the black dye and wound up variegated (white blond, golden blond, orange and even a bit of pink) and realized I'd need to get some strawberry blond dye to equalize the colors, I bought only one bottle and wound up running out just as I was finishing up. Still, it got the job done. (Though two months later I wound up getting my hair chopped from butt-length to chin-length, since I'd been conditioning the crap out of it and it was still breaking off and breaking off and breaking off. The day I was brushing it out for my shower and realized it was so thin I could see the pattern of the wallpaper behind it in the mirror, I had Mom chop it for me. Pity I didn't do it after that first bleaching -- would have saved me some trouble in getting the color to something less embarassingly obviously a bleaching problem, as well as saving on hair dye and exotic conditioning treatments.)
It's down to the middle of my back now, and oddly two-toned between the remnants of the bleach job and my natural caramel color. I kept saying I'd equalize it and get rid of the two-toning with a shade of dark blonde close enough to my natural color to blend as it grew out, but at this point I think I'm going to wind up just getting the last of the lighter color trimmed off and steer clear of messing with color until I get enough grey to want to hide it. (Or until I get another job that lets me have blue hair, because I really miss it. Though I don't miss the frequent touch ups and the tendency to stain things purple whenever my hair got wet in the week or so after each touchup.)
