Remember how my father said that when they cast villains for any sequels to Batman Begins, they should feature Steve Buscemi as the Joker? My brother's response to that tonight was to say that he thinks John Malkovich should play Dr. Freeze.

If anybody's looking for me, I'll be over at Warner Brothers, trying to get my family hired as casting agents.

I wonder... how about Ron Perlman as Clay-face?

Oh, thank God, I'm not the only one who squeals "MALKOVIIIICH!" at even the vaguest reference to the man. *squee*

Oh, no.

I adore him.

They could put him in a Barney movie and I'd fortify myself somehow to withstand it, and go see it.

...now that I think of it, though, Malkovich would make one hell of a Riddler.

I have to say, no please not malkovich!

I have a totally irrational dislike for him. I know that I have no dlear reasons to, I just can't stand him. To me, he is unctious. It's utterly bizarre because I can't give any reasons why I feel this way. It's just a feeling!

But dude, The Joker and steve. SO COOL

How about...

Vincent Cassel as the Joker (there's a pic of him over at [livejournal.com profile] comicbookmovies
Terrence Stamp as Mr. Freeze
Liev Schrieber as Two-Face
Johnny Lee Miller as The Riddler

I can't think of anyone to round out the major villains with The Penguin and Catwoman, although I think it'd be a mistake to look for a short fat man for the Penguin. I'd try to nail the character's personality and make him up like they did John Leguizamo in Spawn>/i>. Maybe Brad Dourif...

Now that you mention it, Stamp would work pretty well as Freeze. I can just picture it now... "People of Gotham, kneel before Zod Freeze..."

Perhaps we dislike him for the same reason?

I dislike Malkovich. Even though I have no idea what he looks like, or what roles he's played.

For me it dates back to 'Being John Malkovich'. Which I've never seen.

He probably had nothing to do with the idea for the movie, except to give his ok. But the sheer ego of the concept still weirds me out.

Ever since I said something about maybe Kate Winslet playing Catwoman, now I can't get it out of my head. It's completely unlike anything she's ever done, but hell, the woman could play an elderly African man with one leg if she had to. She's like the female Johnny Depp -- she can do anything.

If your parents were casting agents, maybe they would have cast better actors and actresses in Star Wars. Just like if I was a writer I would have written better! No more "You're breaking my heart whine whine whine whine I'm going to die from lost will to live" shit XD

I've only seen parts of it, and I actually liked it. It's like, I LOVE Man in the Iron Mask (even though it sucks a lot. A whole lot. It's terrible. But someone has to love bad movies!) though he drives me nuts in it. The concept of Being JM is a bit weird. Even if it was someone else they were being.

DITTO!

I adore him. I've adored him since I was 13. My parents used to think it was a bit odd.

Malkovitch : = Great Riddler... not so much with the "Mr." (not "Dr.") Freeze. Mr. Freeze is a tragic, over-the-top romantic villian, he did it all for love. I'm not sure I'd like to see what Malkovitch loves.

I'd have liked to have seen Patrick Stewart create the role, as he was originally supposed to do, until Ah-nuld "shoulda played Bane" Schwartzenegger demanded and got the part. I'd have liked to see the Governator break Batman's back over his knee, or try to; that's more his dramatic reach.

I vote Mark Hamill for The Joker, but he may be considered too old now... *sheesh* that's so unfair.
