So now AICN is saying that Ben Foster has been cast as Warren in X3.

Oh, for Christ's sake. I know there are actors in Hollywood who actually look like Warren. I've seen them, for crying out loud. I know they exist. They're not like the Easter Bunny or Santa Claus. They cannot tell me they can't find a tall, strapping blond man who's a decent actor in Hollywood.

I really wish they'd just cast him already so I could be appropriately pissed off about whoever they pick without having to restrain myself because "it's only a rumor." And considering the rumors of who they've been casting have been making it look like they're making him not that much older than Bobby, I have a feeling "pissed off" is the only definition for how I'm going to behave when they cast the role.

EDIT: An AICN article about Bruce Campbell. Here's the best part -- In the intro he said in the fall he's going to start shooting a movie where he plays himself and a monster starts killing people in this small town where he is staying and somebody has the idea to get the guy from the Evil Dead movies to fight the monster, but even more people die when he shows up since he's never used a chainsaw or a shotgun. HOLY CRAP I NEED TO INVENT TIME TRAVEL SO I CAN GO SEE THIS MOVIE THIS WEEKEND. *flails*

I swear to God, every one of these goddamn rumors I keep hearing gets the response, "He's not a bad actor, but NO. NO, NO, NO."

You should cast him. You pick good people.

I've actually heard Nick Stahl is close to being Warren.

Sure! I haven't gotten to see Serenity yet, but as God is my witness, I'd defy time and space for Bruce Campbell. *bounces around the room like a Tigger on crack*

That does rather sound like fun. I love self-referential (not reverential, you understand)...

Or Galaxy Quest 2.

Old story, still fun when pulled off right.

Okay. That's it. Unless something(s) change, X3 is a RENTAL AT BEST. Seriously, what the hell?

Ben Foster was my favourite character in The Punisher flick (shut up, just shut up), and he's a talented and geekily attractive guy, but unless Warren's like fourteen and hasn't hit his growth spurt, no. I cannot see Ben Foster and Daniel Cudmore being gay for each other and that means he is DISQUALIFIED.

The corner of my brain that endless fangirls Mr. Worthington is offended. Greatly. It's also demanding the heads of those responsible for casting should this go through.

And if they want suggestions, I could offer up a few, gladly.

Honestly. I don't even get this. I mean, all of the script rumors that have been coming out have made a big deal about how Warren's going to be influenced by his father and is all stifled and hiding his wings and whatnot, but Jesus, that doesn't mean they have to make him a kid. Grown men can be stifled by their fathers just fine. Jesus.

And what drives me the most nuts is that the actors who've been mentioned aren't bad actors in the least -- they're just horribly, wretchedly wrong for Warren.

I do not doubt the actor's adorability nor his talent, but every picture I see of him, he looks TWELVE! I'm just...so much about what we've heard as far as rumors about this movie has me feeling wary, but this especially.

I...I can't find coherent thought at the moment to properly express my misgivings or distress. I apparently need more caffeine/sleep/a brain transplant before I can do that.

I'd rather they didn't have him at all than cast him wrong.

Basically, they are doing their best to screw up X3. At this point, I'm starting to think it's deliberate.

In further news, Bruce Campbell is totally my celebrity boyfriend.

Oh, God, Bruce Campbell. When he was on the radio a few weeks ago talking about why the movie industry is having its worst box office sales in ages, I nearly died from pure, unadulterated love.

And I am the saddest of the sadpies, because we are going to Boston this weekend and OMG Bruce Campbell is going to be in Boston this weekend, but we are going to miss him because of the wedding. Argh. I'd much rather meet Bruce than walk down an aisle. So close! So far! Augh!

So, I've been constantly thinking that you would get along great with one of my RL friends. And then he went and did me a favor and got him a blog, so now I can introduce you! The two of you are always in competition for the first person from whom I hear about any given casting news, etc. He gave me permission to give you his URL, with the caveat that you'll have to tolerate his Transformers geekery, as they've just come out with a new bunch. Without further ado, Another Blog by Another Geek.

Now - I admit to not being the most savvy person in the world re: X-Men comics - but I was reading a fanfic on someone's website - and she "cast" characters that hadn't been in the movie - and she used Jude Law as Warren - and I totally bought that.

Can't we petition the studio and get Bryan Singer back??
