List ten movie soundtracks you love and tell why.
1. Practical Magic -- Okay, the movie's questionable, but I love the soundtrack. It's nice and soft and pretty and makes for great background music. I'm watching the movie right now just for the hell of it and I seriously wish I knew where my copy of the soundtrack is.
2. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone -- I have the entire soundtrack for the first movie in one huge, long file on my MP3 player, and it's perfect to put on when I'm writing.
3. Beetlejuice -- Well, Danny Elfman's just generally cool and everything he touches is awesome, but I have a soft spot for Beetlejuice, just because the main theme is really good for working out to.
4. Chicago -- Damn it, I liked Chicago, even if I'm still bitter it won Best Picture over The Pianist. But honestly, I must have played that CD in my car a million times over. I'm amazed it still works, truth be told.
5. Moulin Rouge -- See, that's the thing. I thought the movie was gorgeous and adored the soundtrack, but the combination of the two of them pissed me off.
6. Bend It Like Beckham -- Whee for Indian music!
7. The Matrix -- Ah, back when the movies didn't suck. Yet another album I pretty much killed in my car stereo.
8. A Knight's Tale -- You know, once you get over the fact that it's a classic rock soundtrack for a medieval movie, it's not a bad mix of music.
9. The Kill Bill movies -- I don't have the whole soundtracks, but every time I pick up a new track off them, I love it. Nice, quirky stuff I've inevitably never heard before.
10. Last of the Mohicans -- So. Freakin'. PRETTY.
