Date: 2003-09-11 06:10 am (UTC)It turns out that the weird stuff is actually nanite technology that binds itself to Jake's system, giving him superpowers (enhanced hearing, strength, speed, and telepathic communication with machines). Yeah, you have to suspend your belief a little, but it's definitely a lot of fun to watch, and the guy who plays Jake is too adorably dorky for words. (He's got a really nice Peter Parker vibe going on.)
