Aug. 17th, 2005 08:35 pmYou know that episode from the first season of Dead Like Me where they have to do filing, and George asks Rube a really complicated question about filing (well, sort of), and then realizes in her head that she was so busy hating her job, she didn't even realize she was learning how to do her job? Or something like that? Yeah, that's the kind of day I've been having.
Also, in my office is four racks. There is also my desk, on the left of which is a rack for researched packages and on the right of which is a rack for unresearched packages. I put up signs everywhere with big, easy-to-read letters telling everybody exactly where everything goes, so that I wouldn't come in to a pile of unresearched packages on my floor. I've been finding piles of them next to my desk for days, so I put a sign on my desk chair that I now turn towards the door when I leave, which says, "PUT NEW PACKAGES ON THAT RACK!" and underneath it, "------------->". Okay, who wants to guess how many new packages I found in great big piles on the OTHER rack? *headdesk*
If this day has proven anything, it's that when it's my workspace and my workspace alone, I tend to get a tad anal-retentive about the neatness. Hmm.
