I'll give you a freakin' WISH list ...
Aug. 17th, 2005 11:48 pmSo I was at work today, and I started making a list of stuff I wanted for my birthday next month, more because I like doing that instead of because I need one. (When my mother asks what I want for my birthday, I'm going to say, "Apartment stuff." There. Done. :))
But since I was using it more for daydreaming than any serious sort of list-making, I started making a real "wish list". As in, I'm walking down the street and I find a genie's lamp. If I could rub it and wish for anything I wanted right this second -- from stuff that costs nothing to stuff that I could never afford in a million years to stuff that I could never have regardless of the cost, and none of this three wishes crap -- this is what I would wish for today. That kind of thing. :)
So here it is ...
What I wish for:
1. A car. Specifically, a dark green Mini-Cooper or a yellow VW Bug.
2. My parents to make sure I get that two-bedroom apartment so I can have my very own writing-type office.
3. Even better, my own house. Nothing fancy or anything ... it doesn't even have to be big.
4. A kitten. Or two kittens. Or three kittens.
5. A baby. (What? I want to be a mommy. Sue me. :))
6. To see Iceland. Or Africa. Or Russia. Or Germany. Or Japan. Or Brazil. Or anyplace, really.
7. Above all else, to stand on the summit of Everest, but only if I would absolutely not feel the cold. (Which is why I won't be climbing Everest. Well, that and the climbing.)
8. In a related wish, to be on The Amazing Race.
9. World peace. (Because I'm a beauty pageant contestant. YAAAY! ;p)
10. To go through one day without being worried or scared or stressed out.
11. For all of my friends's problems to go away or be solved in a blink of an eye.
12. Superpowers. Teleportation would obviously be my favorite, but telekinesis would be nice, too. Actually, I'll take the powers of the Tomorrow People in the early '90s series, since it's a wish list.
13. A time machine. A TARDIS would be nice (complete with Doctor), but I'm not picky. ;)
14. To go back and rewrite the last two seasons of Buffy.
15. To remember in perfect detail the Queen concert my parents took me to see when I was only a year old. (I saw Freddy in concert and I can't remember! *sobs*)
16. To go back to, say, tenth grade and do-over everything since then, but with the knowledge of how everything turned out the first time.
17. Captain Jack Harkness. (For virginity-losing purposes, you see. *nods solemnly*)
18. Jake Gyllenhaal. (Him, I'll keep. *eg*)
19. Apartment stuff. And when I say "apartment stuff," I mean like wooden spoons and shower curtains and icecube trays and all that everyday crap that I don't have.
20. Decorative apartment stuff. You know, the personality stuff. I need to find my tchotchkes or learn how to draw or something or drag out a sewing machine and just get creative.
21. In related wish, I could use a new sewing machine.
22. An unlimited budget for shopping for clothes. (Can I please? For once? *whimper*)
23. My old standby wish, which really kind of defeats the purpose for that last wish ... a wallet that always has the exact amount of money I need to buy something when I open it.
24. Movie posters. Like, lots of movie posters ... vintage stuff and '80s classics seem to be the bulk of the stuff I added to my Amazon list. I just want to wallpaper the place with them. :)
25. Really long, naturally curly strawberry blonde hair. Not for forever, of course -- God knows I'd probably be driven nuts in a month with hair like that. But a month of it would be fun.
26. To sell Monsters of Moosic and the rest of the series with it. *crosses fingers that I can do that one on my own*
27. For it to be NaNoWriMo already so I can get started on Vampires of Vandling. (I'd start it now, but that's book three and I haven't even gotten The Walking Dead of Wilkes-Barre finished yet.)
28. A gigantic blood-rare steak and an enormous baked sweet potato. (What? I'm hungry.)
29. To pet a panda.
30. Paris Hilton to wake up tomorrow covered in monkey hair.
31. Bill O'Reilly to get Tourette's.
32. On second thought, Bush to get Tourette's.
33. Every pro-life man in the country to get pregnant. With quintuplets. And be denied Caesareans by their OBs. (Forgive me. I was listening to one this afternoon on the radio and GYAH.)
34. The LOTR trilogy in the nicest DVD set there is. (I still don't know why I don't have that yet. *shakes head*)
35. The release of the last Harry Potter book. Not to find out how it ends, but to gleefully watch the fannish fallout from the sidelines. *cackles maniacally*
36. An X-Men live-action TV show with an unlimited budget, a talented writing stuff and a cast handpicked by the best casting agent in Hollywood.
37. The vampire handbook from "My Best Friend Is A Vampire". For a B-movie, that was an excellent prop. ;) (There should be fic where Wilson turns out to be Jeremy Capello in hiding. Well, I'd laugh. I'd be lonely, but I'd laugh.)
38. For Diana to hook up with Marco on The 4400.
39. Some very sweet "domestic" Doctor/Rose futurefic. A marriage, a kid, the whole works.
40. Decent Sky High fanfic with a good plot and some length. (If I can wait, we might actually get some.)
41. The second season of Veronica Mars to live up to the first.
42. A lifetime supply of Pop Nots. (Hello? Still hungry.)
43. To hang out with the X-Men. Or Bruce Wayne, but he'd depress the hell out of me.
44. For Charlie to play "Cecilia" around the campfire on Lost. (I can't remember which fic I read that in, but every time that comes up on my Zen, I hear it and think, "Oh, YES.")
45. For the cast and plot of X3 to STOP SUCKING.
46. You know that ticket from "The Last Action Hero" that lets you go into movies? I want that.
47. Some good Michael/Selene Underworld porn. (I blame
ficangel for that one.)

Do you think, if enough of us wish really hard and clap our hands or something, both of these will come true?
