Oh, my fucking God. You all have to go see The 40-Year-Old Virgin yesterday. Funniest movie I've seen this year, hands down. Steve Carell just ... *dies* Not only was he hysterically adorable in a very dorky way, but he really does have decent muscle definition under all the chest hair. :) (And the crack the stoner friend makes about no woman fucking a guy who has an Oscar Goldman action figure killed me, mostly because if I brought a guy like that home, my father the giant fanboy would probably propose on the spot. *snerk*)

It's kind of stupid that I compared Andy to me, right? Because throughout the movie, I was keeping tally:
Pros:

-- I'm cuter than Andy.
-- As sweet as he is, I've got more personality than he does.
-- My fannish obsessions aren't as far-reaching as his are.
-- I'm not as nervous around cute members of the oposite sex as he is. (Actually, the guys I'm nervous around are the ones I don't want to date who ask me out.)

Cons:

-- Andy had still gone farther than I ever have even at the beginning of the movie. Which is just sad, y'all.

It's a lot of the same factors in both cases, though -- just a combination of coming in contact with all of the wrong people (gay, dating other people or moving to England/Utica/wherever being the three most common reasons) and fate just going all of the wrong way.

Seriously, guys, you have to go see this movie, preferably more than once so that the film studios take the hint that we'd actually like to go to the movies if they DIDN'T SUCK.

I assume you caught Carell on The Daily Show the other day? If not - go and watch it on the show's site right now. I actually got light headed from laughing so hard. As described: Jon puts up a good front with Steve Carell until he breaks down weeping.

No, I missed that because I don't have Comedy Central. Although now I wish I did. *dies laughing*

I'm always missing The Daily Show for one reason or another but the site gets stuff up so thoroughly and so quickly that I don't miss anything in the long run.

Bahah! And I totally didn't realize he was in Bruce Almighty, too.

Honestly. I was laughing to the point of tears so many times it all sort of blends together. Heck, my sides still hurt. :)

Oh, god, I totally agree. I almost fell out of my seat laughing during the chest hair waxing scene.
