Due to a lack of money to play with for the rest of the month, I'm kind of screwed on a Halloween costume this year, which sucks because I'm going to get trick-or-treaters this year for the first time EVER. (My parents's house is up on top of the hill where no one wants to walk to, and our apartment building in DC didn't have trick-or-treating, just a big party for the kids.) And damn it, if I'm getting trick-or-treaters, then I'm dressing up.

Notice how I say that like I need an excuse to dress up for Halloween. And I have the whole day off from work! I'm so going to stay in costume all day long. :)

In any event, after rummaging through my closet, this is what I've come up with.



Alice from Resident Evil. And I know it's lightweight for October in Pennsylvania, which is why I'll also be wearing my black suede duster if need be ...

I love coming up with Halloween costumes. One year, I was a dead magician's assistant (very pale makeup and a tiny cocktail dress with plastic swords sewn into it -- it was a bitch to sit in), and another year, I was a mutilated Barbie doll (high heels, hot pants, a tank top, my very short hair pulled into tiny ponytails so that it looked like a Barbie with her hair cut off, and then I gave my brother and his friends washable markers and had them write all over my arms and legs). HEE! Halloween is so my favorite. :)

I'm going to be a ringwraith. We're going to a horse show the weekend before and my horse is black, so I'm covering my cowboy boots with tinfoil and dirt and making some gloves out of plastic and wearing a cheap black cloak that the dog ate the hem of so it's all raggy. I might even get REALLY creative and put blood on Maia's feet.....

I think my best costume was "Grateful (extremely) Dead Fan"... I had a sliced-up Grateful Dead teeshirt with blood all over it, a miniskirt and knee-high leather boots, and a plastic knife through my head. Also wonderful pale gray-green professional-grade makeup all over any skin that showed, so I really did have the lovely "dead a few days" pallor. I kept bonking the knife on door frames when I walked though doors, though!
