I have ten minutes until I have to leave for work and my contribution to the Halloween party is currently heating up in the oven. It's my mom's pizza dip -- a package of cream cheese, a can of chili, and eight ounces of Monterey Jack, for anybody who's into that sort of thing. I think since my mom started making it, it's been proven that I'm the only person on the planet who doesn't like it.

Is it Monday yet? I have two more days of work left before I can devote my brain totally to NaNo for four straight days and I don't think I can handle the anticipation. Although it does give me something to think about other than work, I have to admit. I can spend twelve straight hours fixating on the stupidest little details -- except, you know, tonight I get to spend thirteen straight hours fixating instead. *sigh*

This song makes me feel better. At least now I'm awake. *cuddles it*

I need a cookie.

Yeah, it doesn't sound good listed like that, and it's definitely not the prettiest thing on the snack table. But if you give it a chance, it's sooooo addictive.

I have a hard time with it the way my mother makes it because I think Monterey Jack is nasty, but I discovered that when I make it four ounces of that and four of cheddar, I can't stop eating it.

The thing is, it actually tastes really good when blended together -- it's not exactly the prettiest snack in the world, but once you get past the look of it, it's yummy and terribly addictive. The reason I don't like it my mom's way is because I loathe Monterey Jack, but I've found that if I cut the taste by making it four ounces of MJ and four of cheddar, I can't stop eating it.
