Anybody else want to embarrass themselves thoroughly?

Ten Embarrassing Songs I Love

1. Caribbean Queen -- Billy Ocean
2. Just a Friend -- Biz Markie
3. Groove is in the Heart -- Dee-Lite
4. The Spongebob Squarepants Theme Song
5. Mambo No. 5 -- Lou Bega
6. Rico Suave -- Gerardo
7. Whoomp! There It Is -- Tag Team
8. Informer -- Snow (I think it was an accident, but I just downloaded the video. Yikes.)
9. I Think I Love You -- The Patridge Family (Just. Don't. Ask.)
10. The Love Boat theme song. (There's personal reasons, I swear.)

Ten Embarrassing Movies I Love

1. My Best Friend is a Vampire (Yeah, I can't explain it, either.)
2. Titanic (God only knows why.)
3. Selena (I like at least one Jennifer Lopez movie. I find this very wrong.)
4. Solarbabies
5. Any Police Academy movie
6. Teen Wolf
7. Mannequin. And also, the sequel. (You may spurn me now as you see fit.)
8. Spice World (Yes, Spice World. Shut up. Yet another "personal reasons" excuse.)
9. Arthur 2 and Caddyshack 2 (Speaking of sequels that never needed to be made ...)
10. Nothing But Trouble (Mostly for Digital Underground. How sad is that, exactly?)

Ten Movies Critics and/or Audiences Loved That I Despised

1. The Hours (Blech.)
2. Blade
3. Home Alone
4. Twister (Wtf?! It's a tornado movie! And Jami Gertz is in it, though unfortunately not in a tornado.)
5. Signs
6. Cast Away
7. The Perfect Storm
8. Matrix Reloaded (Okay, so maybe not everybody liked it, but it's currently 20th on the All-Time US Moneymakers list, so it counts.)
9. Any James Bond movie
10. Gosford Park

Five Movies I'd Suggest People Watch If They Asked Me

1. The Pianist (Haunting, amazing, beautiful. You have no idea how happy I was when Adrien Brody won Best Actor. He deserved it like you wouldn't believe.)
2. Frailty (A good horror flick, not so much scary as creepy.)
3. Catch Me If You Can (One of only two movies I've ever liked DiCaprio in. His cons in this movie are too funny.)
4. The Grey Zone (If only because ... are you ready for this? ... David Arquette can act. No shit. Scariest thing I've ever seen.)
5. About a Boy (It's wrong that I don't know anybody in real life who's seen this movie. I have this movie on DVD, for crying out loud.)

There is NOTHING wrong with loving Spongebob Squarepants! Nothing! (I'm going to remain frighteningly forceful on this issue. It's a subject dear to my heart. Ah, Squidward, the eight-legged Snape of Nickelodeon...)

For a movie with Hugh Grant, 'About A Boy' was very quirky. I love the "...she seemed to be wearing a Yeti" line. There aren't enough sasquatch references in modern cinema these days.

Who lives in a Pineapple under the sea? / Spongebob Squarepants!

I'd be perfectly willing to watch 'Catch Me If You Can' if it was fiction. But it isn't. All that stupidity, all that stuff about the character putting innocent lives in dangers...it just wigs me out too much for me to comfortably watch the movie.

Plus, Hanks looks scary in it.

7. Mannequin. And also, the sequel. (You may spurn me now as you see fit.)

I'd be a hyprocrite if I did. I've probably seen Mannequin 20 times.

I love Mannequin. I haven't seen the second one.

I might have liked Titanic better if Jack and Rose hadn't been (at least partly) responsible for the ship sinking.

What's Frailty about?

The only thing I found wrong with Blade was the white dude teaching the black superhero. Why is there always a white dude teaching the black guy? (In Spawn, the white dude was at least in comic book continuity so -that- was an excuse. Most other movies, no excuse).

The Spongebob show is great, the theme song I could live without.

Heh. We downloaded this just last night!

Dude, I haven't thought about Solarbabies in years. Loved that movie! And I will confess to have warm, happy feelings about both Mannequins (though the first was exponentially better - gotta love Kim Catrall).

And oddly enough, I woke up to My Best Friend is a Vampire this morning. Actually I woke up to Men in Black II, but I got outta bed to MBFisV. The joys of falling asleep watching HBO Comedy.

Saw "about a boy" as the in-flight movie on an airplane once. Took much guilty delight in listening Hugh Grant's voice-overs.

My only problem with the movie was the punk girl who suddenly decides she likes the kid she was deriding only 5 minutes ago upon learning that he owns a rap CD... huh?

I saw Spice World on it's opening night.

That's all.

And now I have the Spongebob Squarepants song stuck in my head... thank you. :P
