Dec. 11th, 2005 07:47 amEarly-morning thoughts ...
-- I just slept for twelve hours without meaning to. Um, oops?
-- I tossed my name into the holiday love meme. Hey, who couldn't use that pick-me-up, right? ;)
-- I'm sorely tempted to call my brother right now and ask him if he cleaned the cat litter like I told him to yesterday so that I wouldn't have to. *snickers* Oh, he'd kill me, because I'm pretty sure he went out last night.
-- I kind of want the Trivial Pursuit Pop Culture DVD game for Christmas, and yet I have no one who would play with me. (And if I play it half as well as I do Scene It, none of my relatives will play with me again after one game.)
-- One of these years, I will get up the nerve to tell my relatives to not buy me clothes and just get me gift certificates for Old Navy, Hot Topic, and Rave. Because Christmas is one of the few times all year I end up getting new clothes, and I'm not really all that thrilled when somebody else gets to pick them out.
-- If we're starting a War on Christmas, I definitely call dibs on the battle against Christmas cards. I hate greeting cards. I think I would enjoy nuking a Hallmark store.
-- The Goonies is on TBS right now. Woohoo!
-- I have so much fic to either start or finish this weekend, it's ridiculous. ARGH.
-- What the hell am I doing thinking this much at eight in the morning on a Sunday?
-- The mini-mart down the street from my house caught on fire yesterday. I mean, it didn't burn down, but the roof caught fire and the street was full of fire engines and now I have no mini-mart to walk to for a few days until they reopen. *sighs*
-- I maintain that my mother never should have told me that she and my dad took me to a Queen concert when I was a year old because now whenever I listen to Queen (which is all the time, because they rock), I get bitter because I saw them in concert and I can't even remember it. *whimpers*

Date: 2005-12-12 01:40 am (UTC)I slept for 14 and a half hours a couple of days ago. Admittedly it was fairly low-grade sleep of the 'fell asleep without turning the light off, nagging intermittent awareness that I needed to wake up and take my asthma protector inhaler' type. I then needed sleep again about 9 or 10 hours after waking up.
My sleep cycle is normally crazy, but now it's insane.
I don't send Christmas cards. It started as lazyness then became a statement. Besides, I feel a little guilty if I don't send christian-type cards, but the christian-type cards tend to be at least a little, well, lame.
An oil depot (the UK's fifth largest) 50 miles from me exploded at 6am this morning and is now on fire. The smoke cloud is expected to reach 85 miles from the site tonight and is, I believe, currently directly over my head. The fire service isn't going to start to put it out until tomorrow morning at the earliest, as they are still waiting on more foam and advice.
