I got a chinchilla for Christmas! Woohoo! *happy dance*

And I'm naming him Emmett, which is sort of Christmas-y (like Emmet Otter) but spelled like Emmett on Project Runway. Wheeeeeee!

*snickers* Hi, I'm five years old. :) *goes back to bouncing around like a Tigger on crack*

Pictures to come, just as soon as I get the little bugger home. YAY!

Awesome! They make a lot of noise at night, though, I think. Or something. I remember being amazed by them when I saw them in a petstore when I was a kid, and they were so soft and they bathed in SAND.

Yep I have degus. They are like mutant gerbils, which I used to raise. But someone who knows what they are, I'd given up all hope. Other than the really sharp claws I love the little buggers to peices.

One of my best friends from school has a chinchilla. He works at a pet store, and someone pretty much dumped one off near there. They couldn't keep it at the store, and local animal control people wouldn't have known what to do with one (read: would've put it down), so he kept it. Interesting little thing, really...
