Sheesh, at this rate, I should make it two fics for every day of the year, which comes out to ... seven hundred and thirty fic recs for the year? Damn. That sounds hard, and yet horribly tempting. Between the fic comms I read and the people on ye olde friends list (not to mention the five bajillion ficathons I've already signed up for or plan to sign up for this year), that might actually be doable. What do you think?

Vespers, by _cee (Supernatural, Dean/Sam) -- More great stuff from the Holy Winchesters, Batman! universe. (Heh ... couldn't resist. ;)) Also, we have achieved Wincest! Yay!

You Gotta Love The Symbolism, by ladydisdain225 (Veronica Mars, Logan/Veronica) -- An encounter between Logan and Veronica following 2x10. I am such a hopeless case when it comes to well-written Logan/Veronica fic. Or well-written anything-but-Veronica/Duncan fic. Dude, the day I find a Veronica/Duncan fic I like is the day I'll keel over in shock.

And one more ... Divisible by Ten: Touch, by saganamidreams (Doctor Who, Rose/Ten) -- A very sweet, quiet moment between Rose and the Doctor following "Christmas Invasion". It's a really lovely analysis of the differences between Nine and Ten.

Fic recs left: 353 recs ... well, for now.

I think I need to make myself a Great Fic Rec Challenge of 2006 icon. Hmm.

Oh, and if anyone wants to rec anything in the comments, feel free, regardless of the fandom. I mean, don't rec yourself, because that's tacky, and I reserve the right to rec only the stuff that strikes my fancy. My personal fic rec challenge, my rules, know what I mean? But yeah, go ahead if you want. It'd make it a heck of a lot easier for me to find stuff. :)

I'm seeing if I can get 365 done by 30th of Jan. , because I know I'll get distracted or forget if I try and sustain it all year. Mostly BtVS/AtS right now, other fandoms will come later (dodyrecs)

As for the fic writing, I would say two fics a day if they were small but if you're going for larger fics... would they count as two fics? *ponder*

I was going to sign up for apocalyptathon but... I don't even HAVE five fandoms in there that I could write. Uhhh could I sign up for like, three?

Hmmm ... which three fandoms do you know well enough to write? Because if they're all TV shows, you can always put down two movie fandoms just in case. There's at least four on there (Ghostbusters, Sky High, The Tenth Kingdom, and X-Men movieverse) that you could always rent in case. I mean, if you put down, "These are the three that I can definitely write, and if pressed, I can go out and catch up on these two," I can focus on those three and only use the other two as a back-up just in case of some dire emergency. (Which probably won't happen, since I'm pretty sure which fandoms you might have in mind and if they're the ones I'm thinking of, those spare two fandoms should never even come up.)

sorry to break in like this, but... i wouldn't call it bandwagon jumping, as the first story i wrote in the fandom was just that; in fact most of what i've written has been that. and it's not part of the overall plot arc, just an aside within the same universe. but you do what you gotta do.
