Fic recs ahoy ...
Jan. 6th, 2006 07:42 pmThe femgenficathon master list and I Saw Three Ships stories are up and/or getting updated, and with that comes more fic recs from me. For the record, I haven't been able to go completely through both lists just yet, but in here are the first few I've read and liked. :)
Surgeon, Fangirl ... Hater?, by
anonymous_sibyl (Grey's Anatomy, Cristina, also contains spoilers for the first season of Veronica Mars) -- Cristina gets hooked on Veronica Mars. I can't decide what's more amusing -- mentally picturing her fannish tendencies brought to the forefront, or identifying with her because I have no one in real life to talk about Veronica Mars with. HEE. :)
I Swore I Heard You Laughing, by
fox1013 (Veronica Mars, Lilly) -- Speaking of VM, I adore this fic. Lilly watches her friends and family after death, and boy, is she bored. This is such a perfect portrait of Lilly as a character -- I can totally picture her in the afterlife behaving exactly like this.
To Thine Own Self Be True, by
themoononastick (Lost, Hurley/Libby) -- Hurley has a crush on Libby (and gets advice on women from Charlie and Sawyer). And good for him, because Hurley deserves more fanfic love. (Hell, he deserves more canon love. Someone get that man a woman, stat.)
Stormchasing, by
ezgal (Supernatural, hints of Dean/Sam towards the end) -- Back in their teen years, Dean and Sam ride their way away from a tornado.
... like a ..., author not yet revealed (Stargate Atlantis, John/Ronon/Rodney) -- Okay, after that SGA marathon on Sci-Fi, I needed me something -- anything -- with Ronon. Boy's hot, y'all. In any event, John and Ronon and Rodney puts funny dirty mental images in my head, and this story didn't help. I mean, it did, but ... you know, not if I plan on getting anything done anytime soon.
Indecisive, Thy Name Is, author not yet revealed (Grey's Anatomy, George/Izzie/Meredith) -- I haven't watched a lot of Grey's Anatomy, but I do know that I love George. And I really liked this story, with Izzie and Meredith using him as a body pillow. Poor taken-for-granted George. Heh. :)
The Way Through, author not yet revealed (Doctor Who, Nine/Rose/Jack) -- Ah, nothing like some good Nine/Rose/Jack to get you through the day.
Where Circles Begin, author not yet revealed (Firefly, Wash/Zoe/Mal) -- Ooo! Ooo! I didn't know I wanted this threesome until I read this. I mean ... YUM. Don't ask for coherence. Zoe/Wash is enough to make me spazz, so throw Mal in there and lose me completely. ;)
Fic recs left: 705 fic recs
In other news, I just saw shots from The Dresden Files in Sci-Fi's ad about the original programming it's bringing out this year. Oh, please don't suck. I beg of you. *crosses fingers*

Date: 2006-01-07 01:20 am (UTC)I remember when Constantine came out I kept getting the two confused, having heard about the books for the one and the comics for the other, and knowing a movie of something was being made, but not having read either original.

Date: 2006-01-07 02:34 am (UTC)And on the slender chance it isn't, we'll be very pleasantly surprised.
Poor Harry. So many other bad things have happened to him--werewolves and vampires and demons and fallen angels and the mob and the bad guys and the good guys and the neutral guys and his friends and his enemies and his sad sad history with electronics, and now on top of it all, he's going to be SciFi channel adapted. Is there no mercy in the universe?

Date: 2006-01-07 02:10 am (UTC)It's being directed by the same person who directed Star Trek: Generations. I'm preemptively having nightmares.
