apocalypsos: (fic rec challenge)

Current word count for this particular Supernatural fic: 4,000 words. Low estimate of what I'll probably hit before it's all said and done: 10,000 words.

So, longest SPN fic yet, then. Hmm.

Of course, now my brain is fried and I need sleep and to work on something else to relax. Heh. That's kind of sad, that my idea of taking a break from writing one story is to write another one. :) (Although I may work on the Books of Boggs this weekend hopefully, because this week at work, as annoying as it has been, turned out a wee bit inspirational in terms of subplot ideas.)

Okay, so that there's real content to this post, fic recs ...

Where It Starts, by [livejournal.com profile] estrella30 (Supernatural RPS, Jared/Jensen) -- Post-Paley smut that is to die for. I love the way this story runs forward and backward all at the same time, like somebody keeps pressing a rewind button.

Wednesday, by [livejournal.com profile] pixel_0 (Supernatural, Sam and Dean) -- After Dean's death, Sam tries to cope even as things get progressively worse. I just ... I just ... oh, Sam. Oh, Dean. Oh, John. Why the hell am I always so happy with stories where the Winchesters end up so miserable? Oh, wait, it's because I want to hug the lot of them, among other things. *nods solemnly*

Maggots, by [livejournal.com profile] lalejandra (Grey's Anatomy, Cristina/Burke) -- GUH. Speaking of smut, George is in the next room and Cristina's not happy about it, so Burke distracts her. I mentioned the GUH, right?

Little Sister, by [livejournal.com profile] dragonsinger (Charmed, Piper, Prue and Paige) -- An AU story where Phoebe died instead of Prue. Poor, tortured sisters.

How To Go On, by [livejournal.com profile] khohen1 (Supernatural, John) -- I'm really starting to think that John Winchester doing pretty much anything is one of my new bulletproof kinks. And John coping wih Mary's death and trying to take care of his boys ranks right up there.

A Human Reaction, by [livejournal.com profile] ladydisdain225 (Veronica Mars/Farscape, sort of, Logan/Veronica, John/Aeryn -- also sort of) -- OH MY GOD, WINNER. Logan buys Veronica the entire series of Farscape of DVD and proceeds to watch the entire thing with her. I love this story like PUPPIES. Tiny one, little itty bitty ones that are mewling and cuddly and oh, go read the damn fic already.

Fic recs left: 616 recs left

EDIT: I changed the setup of my colors so now the whole LJ's pretty much shades of purple, which is my favorite color. Is there such a thing as too much of a good thing? Let's find out! *starts timing how long it'll take me to change the colors again* ;)

I like the purple. :-) Of course, that's because my favorite color is purple too, but still...

If it helps any, the purples are far easier to read, to my eyes. :) The previous set, I had to increase the font to see it clearly - this one stays at default.

Of course you know, 616 is the 'new' number of the devil.

Ah. Is Lady D's fic not the best thing ever? I'm currently hoping to talk her into doing a cracked out version of John/Aeryn watch VM. Oh, the possibilities...

I've been using purples for a while now myself, and I love it. Very easy on the eyes, pretty without being distracting. :-D

Here via [livejournal.com profile] spnnewsletter...

Thank you very much for the review. I think you actually got my jaw to drop when I read the recc merely because I look up to your stories so much. (It was one of those, "What? Trollprincess? My story?" and then I think I blanked out for a moment.) Again, thank you. :)
