So I've finally seen this last episode of Top Chef.

Is it wrong that I'm starting to root for Andrea? I mean, not to win the whole thing, but I'm starting to actually believe she's a good cook, which I sure as hell wasn't getting in the first few episodes. Granted, she could stand to shut it about the bowel movements (yeah, let's talk about the last thing I want to associate with the great meal I just had), but when she wins now, it's great, especially because Stephen's usual response is to roll his eyes like he's personally offended. Heh.

Seriously, the best thing about Stephen is just laughing at him. It's not even worth the energy to hate him. Just think of that guy trying to function around normal people. Picture him trying to eat buffalo wings without a fork. The fact that he's never had cart food is just sad, because cart food done right is some of the best food on the planet.

I love Dave. Even when he's bitchy, he's adorable.

I also love Miguel like a great cuddly thing.

The Junk Food challenge was the best thing EVER. I absolutely died laughing. I so want to do that at parties. *flails*

I think that Tiffani and Dave working together was great, because they are both really good with customers. (Even if I don't like her a lot of the time.)

I'm sad to see Lisa go because she was a sweetie, but she really did let herself get kicked to the curb rather than fighting for what she wanted.

Bah. I think I'll go put on one of the movies I've been meaning to watch and try to finish as much of the Pairing List as I can manage.

*dies laughing* Oh, my God, that's PERFECT.

He just has no concept of how normal people are, like he and Miguel are complete and total opposites. (I'm still amazed Stephen even knew the word "schmuck".) Miguel is sociable, gregarious, the kind of guy you want to hang out with who'd make barbecue ribs and eat Cheetos with you ... and then there's Stephen. *snickers*

I will give Stephen credit, though, because he might be a snob but I did love the fact that he was really getting into and laughing hysterically at the junk food challenge. He's not a horrible person, really, he just thinks way, waaaaaaaaaay too much of himself.

Yeah, that's it exactly. He could stand to loosen up a whole lot. Probably this whole experience could really do him some good, being exposed to such an interesting group of people. You know, if he'd stop being such an insufferable little prat long enough to absorb something.

Though you're right, it was admirable that he managed to cut loose at the junk food challenge (which QB and I agreed was maybe the finest scene in the history of reality TV).

But in the meantime - dude! Stephen! You're 24! So knock it off with damn cravat! You're not even doing it ironically! And that is just sad.

I just keep picturing him in home economics class in high school and it kills me every time.

The one thing I did like about him at the junk food challenge (and my God, did my sides hurt after watching that) was that he wasn't wearing a suit. He was wearing this yellow sweater and yeah, he still looked dorky, he looked like a different relaxed dorky and it was nice for once.

The thing that keeps making me laugh at him is that he's only four years older than my younger brother, and he's the kind of guy Bryan and his friends would make insane amounts of fun of. It certainly takes him down a notch when every time you see him, you think of a bunch of teenagers calling him a nerd.
