Well, here goes.

Supernatural Season 1.5 Writing Challenge

So, here's what this is. The season finale is coming up in a couple of weeks, and then it's off to the happy land of Crazy Cracked-Out Withdrawal for all of us. We will have no new Supernatural for about four months, give or take. We need to console each other, damn it.

Hence, this challenge.

Here's the challenge: Write us an episode.

As in, a long story that reads exactly like what you might see if you tuned in to the show on a Thursday night at nine. One job, two brothers, three acts, four wheels, and a partridge in a pear tree.

Er, you see what I'm getting at.

The rules:

1. No short ficlets, no drabbles, no character studies, and NO WINCEST. I love Wincest as much as a lot of you, but it ain't canon, so it ain't working here. We're talking something with a case, a body count, and something evil to kill.
2. No permanent changes. For example, you can't kill off Cassie, Meg, John, or whoever just 'cause, no matter how much fun it might be. You can't end a story with Dean still a vampire, or both boys still in each other's bodies, or one of the guys still genderswapped. Dean can't suddenly declare he's into guys, Sam can't suddenly go back to school, they can't just kill the thing that killed their mom, etc., etc. You get my drift.
3. The story can take place anytime from the beginning of season one to the premiere of season two, whenever that might be.
4. You may go as cracked-out as you want with the plot (after all, we certainly aren't restrained by the WB's lowly special effects budget, now, are we?), but the boys still have to end the story in relatively normal shape.
5. You may work with other authors to create interlocking episodes, if you'd like. It's not required, but feel free.

Length: I'd love to state an official length, but as long as the boys have time to roll into town, solve a case (and really put the work into it), and roll out, you're good.

Deadline: The premiere of season two of Supernatural. (I haven't checked in the last hour. Are we or aren't we getting it? Every time I check, the answer changes. Oh, I'm so confused. *needs root beer float*) Stories can be posted any time between now and then.

Places to post said stories: [livejournal.com profile] supernaturalfic, [livejournal.com profile] spn_gen, etc. Just make sure to link back to here, and if you could, link the story in the comments so that when September rolls around, I'll make a post with a link to all of the stories (in order, if possible, so if you can make a point of identifying when in the canon each case takes place, that'd help immensely. :))

Now, this is a challenge rather than a ficathon, so you don't have to do an official sign-up or anything. It's all for fun, you know?

I volunteer to help you find anything you want out about any demon/legend/myth/whatever.
