The next person who calls Kayne a tattletale is getting a punch in the fucking face with my tiny, ineffectual fists.

Would it be better if he HADN'T told? If he'd just let Keith slide by for the rest of the season with goddamn pattern books under his bed? It was an unfair advantage and it was breaking the rules expressly put out to these people when they signed up.

Keith made this big deal about WOE, why haven't I won every single challenge, for I have the best execution of anybody on the runway? And he DID. And the judges noticed. And the only reason he hadn't won two of the first three challenges rather than just the first was that he was too fucking spoiled to make a dog outfit. Keith might have been a smug punk, but he was right -- he would have gone far, and somebody had to say something.

So now there's people calling Kayne a tattletale. And so far, with the addendum with, "It's just as bad as the cheating!" Hey, guess what? NO, IT'S NOT. God, I hate that attitude. "Don't do anything wrong, but if you find out someone else is, turning them in is bad, too."

*headdesk*

Just another sign that if I had any goddamn sense, I wouldn't go anywhere near the TWoP boards. *growls*

EDIT: I ... have this weird desire to write Laura and Michael friendship fic. *wanders around dazed and confused*

People like that make me sick. Kayne did the absolute motherfucking right thing and anyone who thinks otherwise really needs an attitude adjustment. There is no room in this world for cheating, especially on that freaking show. GAH

*pulls at hair* We both don't have sense lmfao

Amen. I mean, tattling? When did this become kindergarten? We're all adults -- it's called being responsible.

Well, now I know what to avoid reading at work today, so thanks for the warning.

Though I suspect Kayne of having a mean streak we haven't see yet. I figure you *have* to have a mean streak if you're going to cut it in the pageant world. All that southern charm just has to be hiding some claws. But calling him a tattletale is just...petty and stupid. And I do like him.

What I can't understand are the number of people who don't think Keith should have been booted!

Gah. I hate TWoP so much...yet I can't stay away!

I've come to the conclusion that most of the boards are basically populated by poo-flinging monkeys. (and no, that's not just my innate Daddy Winchester/JDM love talking...wait...it probably is.)

Kayne did the right thing. Hello, this is for $100,000, and a nice fucking car. If I found out my competitor had something illegal that could conceivably give him an unfair edge? Hell yeah, I'd be telling.

And honestly, so would they, I don't want to hear it.

Oh, don't even get me started on the John Winchester hate that goes on over there. I mean, the guy's got problems but even Sam said their life could have been a hell of a lot worse. Spend enough time over there and you'd think even something about him saving a busful of nuns and orphans was EVOOOOL.

Aww, don't you know? John is incapable of doing anything good for his sons. Nevermind that Dean grabs onto him like a drowning man in Shadow, and that John obviously respects him enough to follow his order to stand down in Dead Man's Blood when he wants to choke the shit out of Sam.

He's evil, dammit.

And I'm so not going into the wailing and gnashing of teeth over the season 2 spoilers. Cause, holy shit. The screaming and bitching about John, and mysoginy over...other things were just painful.

Date: 2006-08-03 01:30 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] apocalypsos.livejournal.com
Yes, because John was a horrible father all around, which you can tell because Dean and Sam turned out awful.

Date: 2006-08-03 02:12 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] beanside.livejournal.com
Horribly. They're just both complete assholes.

Though, Sammy could use some instructions on how to leave a voicemail for Dad. "Dean's sick and they say there's nothing they can do..." Sam, honey, maybe next time you could leave a location on the voice mail? So if Dad wants to come, and potentially lead the demons to your helpless brother, he could? /Faith rant.

(and yes, Kayne totally has the Bitchy Queen/I will fuck you up vibe going on, but I love it.

Tattletale? What are we, five? *sigh* I am absolutely positive that Kayne has a bitchy streak a mile wide. But that doesn't make him wrong to have turned Keith in for doing something against the contest rules. He was absolutely right to have done so, and his fellow contestants agreed with him prior to his alerting the producers, so really, aren't all the guys who were talking about it "tattletales"? *eyeroll* Whatever.

Actually, we don't know if he told the producers before or after the conversation took place. In my fantasy world, Kayne talked to the producers after Keith took off on his off-site trip (and we don't know when that happened, either) and the producers finally told Kayne that day that they were going to do something about it, so he let his roommates know first before Tim came by.

At least that's how I think it went down.

From: [identity profile] apocalypsos.livejournal.com
Actually, Tim goes into detail about the whole thing in his podcast, which is up on the Bravo site. Kayne didn't have to tell them much, from the way it sounds -- the rumors that someone had contraband had been going on from the start, apparently. And if I'm remembering right, he told the producers before Keith ran off, which is WHY Keith ran off. He got a whiff of trouble on the horizon and made a run for it, but couldn't get far because the producers had his keys and credit cards.

Listening to the podcast right now

Okay, I understand that. But I do like my fantasy, too.

I do have to wonder where Keith went, and who he contacted. Maybe there's fic in that...

Oooh. Another good reason to catch up on the podcast tonight when I get home. I didn't realize Keith had run off because he knew trouble was coming. Where did he think he was going to go without keys and credit cards, though? Sheez.

They literally banned everyone who wasn't. I mean, you ever hear about how at one point, they had to hide the posting stats, because something like eight of the top ten posters had all been banned? All these people who worked so hard to help the site stay alive during the troubled times, gave it so much of the rep it has today... well, they broke one of the billion and five rules. Probably the 'questioning authoriteh' one. I mean, how can your forum be left with anything but idiots if the reaction to someone leaving a question, no matter how polite, about the wisdom or accuracy of a mod or recapper's decision or recap or whatever, is instant bannination?

No wonder it's inhabited by, as beanside said, "poo-flinging monkeys". It's safe to be a poo-flinging monkey, so long as what you're flinging at is the same thing everyone else is.

Sweet Jebus, are people really calling Kayne a tattler? I *know* the kinda guy Keith is, he's that guy who thinks he's so speshul, the rules do not really apply to him. He even SAID exactly that on the show last night just before his I'm-a-rebel rule-bending got him tossed off the show. He had pattern books, he left the site w/o permission, he went on the internet w/o permission, he ignored the stated rules of the puppy challenge and was arrogant about it -- it's not a one-time behaviour, it's a pattern. Maybe his snazzy rebel 'tude will serve him well in future, if he can bend the rules and prosper by it, but not get caught--it's probably served him well in the past. But since one of the actual injured parties who was being screwed over caught him doing the screwing, Keith's adorable rule-bending didn't serve him this time around.

What BS. I remember a good line from a Barenstein Bears book when I was a kid: "'Tattling' is telling just to be mean."

Kayne wasn't tattling. He wasn't doing it to be mean. He was doing it because Keith was cheating.

Keith is a good designer, but it still felt nice to see him get his dose of comeuppance. Way to make himself a laughing stock.

Well, if they're going to use the language of second grade, my response to them will be on the same level: calling Kayne a 'tattler' is wicked retarded.

God. When did TWoP become the melting pot for all the stupid on the interweb?

p.s. I would read your Michael Laura friendship fic. They are total BFFs.

Geeze, do you know what I realized just now? I find myself scrolling through my flist to read your PR updates first thing in the morning. Dude, I DON'T watch the show! *laughs* I don't know what channel it's on (or even if it's cable or regular broadcast). This cracks me the fuck up.

Now... those people that are mad at Kayne? They're like the parents who say it's okay for their kids to cheat "because there's just too much pressure on them". They're always going to blame the person that called them on bad behavior as opposed to saying "oh look, I was wrong."

and still on topic... when I saw the blurb in my newspaper the other day about one of the people on PR getting in trouble for, I think they did call it plagerism, my first thought was "Ohhh let's see what she's gonna say about that!". She meaning you, toots. *G*

That pissed me off too. Kayne did the exactly right thing to do in that situation, you could tell he was nervous about it but he did it anyway. Keith had an unfair advantage, had broken other rules as well, and was an ass about it. He deserved to get kicked off and Kayne should be rewarded for turning him in, not bitched at.

Dude TWOP sucks. Kayne did the right thing. And does any else think that maybe some of Keith's perfect execution came from the fact that he had pattern making books under his bed, books that tell you just how to make those things?

You know, one of the kindergarten teachers I know always asks little kids if they are tattling or telling. Telling is because someone is hurt or breaking the rules. Tattling is if you're trying to get that person in trouble.

I don't thing Kayne was trying to get Keith in trouble. The whole thing was very up front. He asked Micheal and Robert, and *they* said to go to the producers and let them decide what to do.

Some people always have to play devil's advocate.

ZOMG, PLEASE WRITE THAT FIC. I have sort of a weird love thing going on for Laura. Because she's so prissy, and yet she goes around saying things like 'asshole' and 'shithead', and that just makes me exorbitantly fond of her. And because the whole interaction between her and Michael over the granny rosettes was easily my favorite part of last night's episode.

You know, I liked the PR fans at TWOP a lot more when they weren't recapping it and it was a single, hidden thread during the first season.

and if you wrote fic about Laura and Michael I would collapse in a puddle of glee. I love, love, love seeing them work together and it fills me with delight to see that she's effectively adopted him. XD
