The downside of watching Can't Buy Me Love is that you mostly want to smack everybody for not understanding that in twenty years, Patrick Dempsey is going to be really goddamn hot. (Of course, he'll be portraying a major asshole, but still.)

I have to finish the fic assignments I have deadlines for, and yet I've spent yesterday and today working on two fics that aren't due for anything. GRRR. (I think I need deadlines like I need breathing. I work a hell of a lot better with them.)

Oh, and my teeth hurt a LOT. *whimpers*

I thought Patrick Dempsey was a hottie then, even. In a geeky sort of way. But that was the whole point.

I ended up going to see Outbreak because he was in it.

And the Grey's Anatomy guy is an asshole too? Like House level?

Well, first his wife cheats on him. So he moves to Seattle and cheats on her. And then after she shows up he decides to stay with her and treats the girl who slept with him like she's a whore. And then she calls him on it with this really cool speech that she completely negates in the last episode of this season by having sex with him in a room of the hospital while her date and his wife wait for them somewhere else in the building.

At least House knows he's an asshole. The fact McDreamy's an asshole seems to have escaped his attention. (I don't much like him or Meredith. I'm there for everybody else, much like when I used to watch Buffy.)

And yeah, he was definitely cute back then, although he's incredibly hot now. He and Anthony Michael Hall turned out way hotter than anybody would have thought back then.

Count me in as one of those who thought he was dreamy then, too... but yeah, in a geeky sort of way.

If you get a chance, you definitely need to track down the movie Loverboy, because there is much hotness to be seen, even if he's still somewhat young and scrawny.

Oh! And did you notice his character's little brother in Can't Buy Me Love? None other than the future Buffyverse werewolf, himself, Seth Green. A VERY young Seth Green.

I watched part of that this afternoon! (It was that or "Cheetah Girls.") When Patrick went into the store and spent his money on the girl instead of on his telescope, I was screaming at him for his stupidity.

Which I realized was about the same thing I do every Sunday now.

So I stepped back from the television and went outside. Wiser choice, really.

(But you're right. He turned out hella hot.)

And, word on McDreamy being an asshole. I was kind of hoping they would have Meredith be stronger than that (especially after the speech), but oh well.
