Who the hell holds their pet while they bake cupcakes? I mean, I know that woman loves her dog, but my mother loves her cats like she loves her kids and if she's making cookies and one of us picks up a cat anywhere near the kitchen, she spazzes out about us getting hair in the cookies.

I'm really crazy-desperate for Chinese food (yes, again) but I'm not letting myself pick up any before work tonight unless I get my damn quota finished for today. I don't even know why I'm so worried about hitting quota, since I've been planning on only working on the novel during my days off when I have more time to commit fully to it, but I have the whole day to myself until five, so I might as well make a dent.

Yeah, her mom's just bugging the cheese out of me. My question is how much she's in on the whole thing. I mean, if her dad adopted Claire because of superpowered parents, or whatever, does her mom think that Claire was just something the system popped out? Or does she know that her dad picked her special?

Indeed. And isn't that dog a Pomeranian like the dog that one person meant to breed with Claire's mom's dog? I mean, Claire's mom is sort of yuck, and stupid to boot if my theory of the dogs holds up. If it doesn't, I'm the one who's stupid.

I'm just waiting for Claire's mom to be revealed as the mastermind behind everything. Dad's just her Number One henchman, traveling all over the world furthering her evil plots while she sits back and plays with her dog in between ordering assassinations and mind-wipes.
