God knows you dangle a shiny object in front of my face and I go bounding off in another direction like a three-year-old.

But I can always make wishes for the rest of the year, right?

1. Can I get laid this year already? Come on, man.
2. In the same vein, I wouldn't mind getting knocked up this year.
3. I want to be able to walk into a Borders and see a book with my name on the front of it on a shelf. Or at least get started on the process towards having that happen.
4. Considering how likely the rest of those are? How about world peace and the ability to bend time and space?
5. And also, a puppy.

EDIT: Also ... OMG SOMEBODY GET MY FREAKIN' ZEN TO WORK. *headdesk times a million*

your dino icon is grooving along to my sitar-and-beats fusion music. o.O

do you mean your Zen Zen, your creative Zen, or your Creative Zen?

My Creative Zen Vision. It all of a sudden decided that everything on the computer but the Device Manager wasn't going to recognize it. Apparently it's a common problem with easy solutions, but every time I try to fix them nothing happens. I really want somebody else who's better with computers to look at my laptop and Zen and try to fix it, but handing them both to my brother and father and asking them to try to work on it as soon as possible flips some sort of internal switch that sends them both scurrying off to do other stuff. *sigh*

i just got myself a Creative n200 and apparently this is a problem Creative products have, a friend tells me. i don't know how true that is - not very, i do hope. anyway, my computer/USB port won't recognize/acknowledge the damn thing. and nobody around here is all that willing to help me, either. ugh.

I mostly just want somebody else to work on it because by now it's just frustrating the hell out of me. I spent over two hundred dollars on the damn thing -- I don't want to have to return it or trade it in for a new one or whatever.

haha, same here; partly because i am a firm believer in Things Just Working. which they don't, often. er.

I second bugging Creative about it. It might be slightly frustrating, since they usually give you the solutions you've most likely tried already, but eventually, they'll get you the right answer. *hopes*

Yeah, that world peace sure is something.

I Googled "zen vision recognize device manager" and got lots of links to forums where this problem is discussed. Looks like it's pretty common and that if updating drivers, installing the latest Windows service pack, etc., don't work, you need to get on the phone with Creative who will probably tell you to send it back for service/replacement. Sucks to lose your music, but the goal is a working player, right?

Hope that's at least marginally helpful.

1. Can I get laid this year already? Come on, man.

Do you know how tempting it is to comment on that with "So get your cute ass over here, then"?

If you could get to western Kentucky, or I could get to Pennsylvania, I'm pretty sure we could work something out...

As for resolution #2, I can't help you with that one. I'm so not ready to be a father...
