You know what makes for a fabulous capper on a really crappy day at work? Falling down while hurrying to your car at the end of the day, tripping going up the stairs to the parking lot, tearing your jeans, and skinning your knee. OW.

Yeah, last night was absolute shite. But hey, I think I've got the solution -- a six-pack of Smirnoff, a couple of pounds of crab legs, and a really bad movie to recap. I know exactly what I'm going to recap this weekend, too. I just need to pick it up this weekend. *rubs hands together wickedly in anticipation*

I've also changed my bigbang idea for the third time. Oh, for crying out loud. *headsmack*

Oh, while I'm at it:

Dear Shonda Rhimes,

If that spoiler that Kristin from E! reported (and here's hoping she's wrong as per usual) about one of the doctors having a bun in the oven by season's end relates to George and Izzie, I'm going to totally blame you when, upon discovering the truth of said spoiler, I throw up in my mouth a little.

Sincerely,

Me

P.S. Why is it that when this comes out in an episode or two -- and you know it will -- I can just see Cristina getting this look of faint terror and saying, "Oh, God, I don't have to sleep with George, too, do I?"

Now, the rest of you. Go buy people at Sweet Charity. Fandom whores, y'all -- you know you want one.

Oh god, if it is George and Izzie, I may very well give up on that show. I just watched the last episode and I was SOOO not happy. >:[

Last season, before Denny and everything, I might have gone for it. But this season, after Callie and Izzie behaving like a complete jackass and George acting like his backbone has shriveled up and evaporated ... I'm sorry, but NO. When a character I'm supposed to like and sympathize with commits adultery, they lose me.

And if Izzie gets knocked up because of it? *growls*

I can keep hoping that when the swelling goes down in Jane Doe's face Alex is going to find out that she's a woman he had a one-night stand with seven or eight months ago, but I just don't have that much faith in the writers these days.

I used to want George/Izzie, but now... it's totally ruined for me. Like.. UHG because Izzie been a bitch and I was SO proud of George for telling her off at the end of last week's ep... and then he just throws that all out the window by SLEEPING with her. BAH. And I love Callie, so that doesn't really help matters, either.

You know what really bothers me about the way they talk about Callie on the show? It's that they talk about her. You've got all of these characters (mostly if not all female ones) bitching about what a heinous awful hose beast she is, but do we ever actually SEE it? She's brash and she's loud, but she's not any meaner than any of the other doctors and when she gets angry it's over a genuine concern rather than something petty she blows out of proportion. And I get the impression we're supposed to hate her the way they hate her, for stupid petty reasons, regardless of the fact that Izzie and Olivia (who have been the most vocal about it) have come off sounding like enormous hypocrites when they do bitch about her.

*sigh*

I want to thwap the writers over the nose with a rolled-up newspaper.

Meh. I had an aversion to Callie from the first "Oh look, they're pushing her and George together" moment way back in season 2. So despite the fact that the George/Izzie pairing will undoubtedly fall to pieces in a horribly messy fashion -- because, after all, that's what the writers seem to want to do with things that fans might be interested in (remember George/Meredith?) -- I'm seriously hoping that it doesn't.

Despite the hypocritical nature of apparently all George's ex's/possible love interests rallying behind him with or without his desires.

Seriously. Callie has been awesome. Yeah, she's a little strange, but on a show that valorizes McDreamy and demonizes Addison, I really can't take what the show is telling me seriously. There's a big disconnect between what the writers are telling me and what they're showing me.

Now I want Callie and Alex to run off with Addison to her spin-off (and maybe take Bailey with them, so it's totally TEAM AWESOME) and leave the losers at Seattle Grace in their own mess.

Honest to God. I mean, I get how Callie might get on your nerves. But at the same time they treat her as though she's Satanic or something and I have yet to see anything that validates the level of hatred these people have for her.

And don't even get me started on the double standard this show has for Derek and Addison. Yes, Addison did a bad thing when she cheated on Derek. But, hey, guess what? Not only did Derek lie to Meredith about still being married, but thanks to not getting a divorce forever and a day (AND, when given a chance, choosing Addison over Meredith and still going after Meredith), he cheated, too. And if there's one thing that makes me lose the most respect for a character it's cheating while married or in a committed relationship.

And I'm supposed to worship the ground this guy walks on? Eh. Not so much.

At this point the only man at Seattle Grace who isn't making me want to punch him in the face on a regular basis is Alex. But then again he's Alex and a bit of an ass and completely unapologetic about it and yet a woobie underneath it all. (I would sell my left arm for my Alex-is-the-babydaddy theory to be true. ALEX AND A BABY. *wibbles*)

*nod nod*

And to see them respond that way to her and yet fall all over McDreamy is just...ugh.

Yes. This is my biggest problem with the show, because it means I can't trust the writers - what they think they're saying and what I'm seeing don't match up, and that's problematic for me as a viewer.

Yeah, I am very impressed with how much they made me like Alex after a really rocky beginning. If he turned out to be the babydaddy, that would be hilarious and sweet.

You know the sad part? I really liked the idea of Izzie and George getting together eventually (this was before he got married). But then Izzie turned into a bitch about Callie - who has turned out to be a really fun character - and George just TAKE IT, and ARGH. So annoyed with all of them.

On the plus side, Alex has turned out to be my favourite intern (and he used to irritate me so much!); I really hope that he and Jane Doe have something together.

...all of which is to say that, while I still watch this show compulsively, I'm worried. A lot.
