Me: "I'm not going to pretend you don't watch porn, right?"
Bryan: "Oh, yeah, I watch porn all the time."
Me: "And you've watched lesbian porn, yeah?"
Bryan: "Sure."
Me: "So if those two girls were sisters, would that gross you out at all?"
Bryan: "No, not really."
Me: "But it's gross if it's a woman thinking it's hot watching two brothers making out?"
Bryan: "Well, yeah."
Me: "So two brothers making out is gross, but two sisters making out is perfectly okay?"
Bryan: "Oh, sure, that's fine."

It was the casual way he threw out that last line that made me giggle for five minutes straight.

Maybe they think sisters (better yet, twins) are more achievable than two random women? If there's one thing I learned from watching Happy Days, that is it. Possibly because sisters -- especially twins and triplets -- spend half their nights in bed with eachother anyway, dontchaknow.

Also, in the conversation reported above here, there are two slightly different situations: 1. Girls kissing which is hot, who turn out to be sisters, which doesn't reduce teh hotness, and 2. Boys kissing which is hot *because* they're brothers. So because vs. in spite of.

The fact that they are 'sisters' or that it's incest is almost a non-event for most lesbian-twin devotees I think.

Think about how Wincest or Petrellicest is thought of in a wider audience or the Olsen (OMG ALMOST LEGAL!1!) Twins. It was OK to want to fantasise about the girls (but only after they were old enough, WTF) because their actual relationship is irrelevant. The Winchester or Petrelli brothers are seen as brothers first not cardboard-standee-sexy-sexin'-twins.

I'm much more ok with fictional characters committing incest than I am actual people doing it. I've read books and seen movies with with incest depicted (almost any book by Heinlein is loaded with incest) and it never really bothered me; but it's not something I want my neighbors doing with the curtains open.
