-- Niki is dead (probably), and the most I can summon is pity for poor Micah. First of all, they could have done so much more with her plotline, and instead it was the same recycled bullshit in two different seasons. And secondly, if she still had the virus, then how the hell was she managing to use her strength? You know what? Don't know, don't care, want to snuggle Micah.

-- Nathan's probably dead, although let's face it -- Heroes works like soaps. Unless you see a body, they're not dead, and even THEN. I'm sure Peter will remember, uh, DUH, I absorbed Claire's power, I can save Nathan, too. And I'm sure of it mostly because I'm figuring that the fan reaction to even the slightest hint of Nathan's death will not be pretty at all.

Noah was totally the one who shot him, though. Heh. More badass Noah, yes?

See the thing of it is, how much SupahBlood does it take to make you permanently recover from your injuries? I'm functioning under the horror that once injected, always a survivor. Which means:

1 - YAY NOAH FOREVAH!
2 - YAY NATHAN FOREVAH!
3 - BOOOOOOO MAYA FOREVAH!

And while it makes me sad that I'm mostly angry at the female characters (GOD, NIKI HATE!), I think it's mostly the fault of the writers for making many of the women lame beyond lameness. Alejandro, for the record, had the LAMEST superpower ever and I'm glad he's dead.

Maybe. They haven't said anything about how long the blood is "active" (on purpose at this point, probably). Could do its job (heal everything wrong right now), last a short time, then it's absorbed/rejected, or has some minor lasting effect (HRG will never sneeze again). It'd kill (sic) too many dramatic plotbunnies if half the cast was invincible.

You know -- it occurs to me that Alejandro may never have had a power at all.

All he did was calm Maya down so she stopped exuding black stuff. So now I think she could always control her power and just never realized it.

I don't think that's the case for a few reasons:

1) Alejandro didn't get the eye-ooze ever until he was right in the act of calming Maya down, which makes him immune if nothing else.
2) See above, with the quick eye-darkening thing as he, what, "absorbed" her power, I guess?
3) They're twins. Twins are always "special." Even if special = pathetic. ;)

I would love to believe that, because in my mind the three of them are totally smart enough to do it, but something tells me the SHOW isn't smart enough to do it. -_- or at least, they don't think we'd be smart enough to pick up on it if they did.

And aw, I loved Mohinder in this episode. Maybe Maya is good for something there, at least -- being the dumbest character EVER, so she makes other ambiguously-wise people look fucking brilliant by comparison. Still wish she had stayed DEAD, though.

If it helps, I would bet money that Niki's not dead. No body, no death, after all, and frankly it would be in character for her to think Micah's better off without her and her crazy-ass problems (and she thinks she's dying anyway, although I'm not at all sure she is). Although it would be ironic if she died in a fire after the whole, "Being a hero was what got your father killed" thing in T&C.

At least she saved Monica.

I'm doubting Nathan's dead. Partly because of all the characters they can afford to lose, I really don't think he's one of them. But mostly, NAHHH. it doesn't fit. At least, I doubt he's permanetly dead. Everything happened too fast for that. I'm thinking if Nathan *IS* dead, then it's possibly an engine to get a very po'd Kensei out of his little coffin. On the off chance Peter hasn't absorbed that ability (though, really, I think he has. He's gotten it twice over now. Claire and Kensei) then he'll be all *OMG MUST FIND CLAIRE* and if HRG's got her hidden away, he'll be all "OMG HIRO TELL ME WHEREEEEEEEEEEEEEE..."

But I like this "they totally planned it" theory. Matt *SO* did the thinky face. They made a point of focusing on his thinky face. Which makes me wonder what the boys are really up to. Did anyone else notice that the knife in the vault was similar to the one that St Joan holds on the cover of the comic book?

Well, I've got the file open right now and this is what I'm seeing in the vault:

1. Three playing cards, all queens. The Queen of Clubs is missing.
2. A brain in a jar, labeled 8037 or B037.
3. The knife in question. The blade has a wave towards the point and the hilt curls on either side towards the blade. (And yeah, that's almost exactly what the blade on the cover looks like. You can't really see the hilt, but the blade is identical.)
4. A miniature wooden Trojan Horse carving.
5. A metal stand for something, which is missing.
6. A small dark pyramid.
7. A large gold key. The door to the compartment for the key is open, and Adam's hand was in it when Hiro entered.

I imagine Adam's hand reaching into the key compartment was meant to through off Hiro or whomever else entered next, since the empty metal stand appears to be the right size for the vial and Adam had plenty of time to snatch it out of there and hide it in his hand.

Hmm, I dunno. I just rewatched that bit, and it would be pretty damn hard for Nathan to be actively thinking something at Matt while he's saying something else out loud. I do agree that Peter will probably bring him back to life, though. And Matt did make some sort of face, I agree, but it may have just been a "thinking is hard!" face. ;)

While it is hard to think something while talking about something different, it so can be done if you practice what you're saying out loud enough. Trust me I used to do this when I worked in a call center and was leaving messages or asking really long questions.
