Hi, there! Hey, guess what? I can knit!

Yeah, it only took me a day to go from royally fucking it up to, "Hey, look at that wee little Smurf-sized afghan!"

Now I'm off to make a purple scarf that's as long as I am tall. And after that, gun cozies! (Not because I have guns that need cozying, although I'm perfectly willing to go out and buy a water gun so that I can give it a comfortable loving home and a tiny gun-shaped sweater.)

I really do want to make an afghan when I'm more comfortable with all of this. I've been wanting one that's white and purple and light green like my bedspread and I found the perfect yarn for it but I don't want to just ask my mom to do it if I can. Oh, and also an autumny one I can make during the summer and have ready for fall. And maybe a sweater when I figure out how and my God, I'm already addicted, aren't I? *headsmack* I may have been craftily deprived the past few years without my sewing machine, I think.

Yay! Congrats on getting hooked (heh) so quickly! Are you knitting English or continental style? Have you signed up for Ravelry yet? There's a waiting list, but they're getting people in pretty damn quickly.

Heh. I'm tellin' ya, I'm so deprived when it comes to making stuff. I used to sew ALL the time, and watching Project Runway was making it miss it.

Are you knitting English or continental style?

Um ... *checks Wikipedia* English, I guess? I've only got casting on, knitting and purling down so far, so I'm basically just trying to get a lot of practice doing the basic stuff. Which is why I haven't signed up for Ravelry or anything yet. At this point I'm just goofing around getting practice. :)

I need an Emerson knitting icon. Hmm.
