Aside from the fact that I think Keira Knightley's spot was robbed by somebody (I'm leaning towards Cate Blanchett right now, as much as I love her), most of the nominations make me very, very giddy. I mean, I'm not surprised by most of them -- I said each of the Best Picture nominees as they read them out loud, and I really think they should just give Javier Bardem and Daniel Day-Lewis their Oscars now and have it done with -- but I do love them a great deal. I still have to see Juno, but even so I'm rooting for Ellen Page for Best Actress because that would be an awesome surprise win. Marion Cotillard would be a fabulous win as well. (If you get a chance to see the movie, WATCH IT HOMIGOD. But don't go check out what she really looks like until after you've seen it -- the transformation is wonderful.)

Ugh. I miss the days when I'd already gone to see almost all of the nominees in the theater by now. *sigh*

In other movie-related news, I really hope I don't have to go to work this week, because I think I'm going to go through my DVD collection once again and figure out how to post them all on eBay or Amazon or something. Hmm.

EDIT: Aaaaand I'm laid off again this week. \o/

Also, I hadn't even noticed Hairspray didn't get nominated for any Oscars. Huh.

What I'm kind of hoping for is that the voters will figure that with Daniel Day-Lewis and Javier Bardem being pretty much locks in their categories, and Cate Blanchett probably going to win supporting (since it's definitely the better of her performances, and even though I hope Ruby Dee wins because she's RUBY FUCKING DEE and it's criminal that's her first Oscar nomination), and that it's been a weird year and the whole writer's strike is really depressing by now and wouldn't it be great to have a really fabulous surprise come out of this year's Oscars and let's give Ellen Page Best Actress?

And yes, I like my dream world. The clouds are pink here! :)

I think it would be nice for Page to win, but Cotillard was SO good, and Julie Christie is revered, so it's going to be tough.

A lot of people would like to see Ruby Dee get it, but that's what people said about Lauren Bacall, and she ended up losing to Juliette Binoche. I really think it might be Amy Ryan--she won almost all the critics awards.

Oh, yeah, Cotillard was astounding. I only just saw a photo of the actress today and I was like, "Wait, THAT hotass played her?!"

If for no other reason, I want Ellen to win because she'd have a kick-ass acceptance speech.

But what can I say? I've had a crush on her since X3, and I LOVED Juno.
