I just picture Bush sitting there with a broken, plastic halo over his head going, "I can has tax cuts?" and looking up at Dick Cheney like he's four years old.

Gah.

Oh, yeah, I almost forgot we're not heading towards a recession. Those tax rebates are just so all of us can go out and buy ponies. SAVE THE PONY INDUSTRY! \O/

... What are the odds Prince Harry is, right this minute, sitting in a helicopter half-way to his new posting two hundred miles away?

Pretty good by now, I'd wager. I kinda feel sorry for him. I sure as hell don't want to go to a war zone but he sounds like he's all for it.

I think he feels like he needs to prove himself; and to prove he's not getting special treatment from the military.

I applaud him for wanting to face the same dangers as "his lads" and not accepting special treatment because of who he is. He's a good boy. His momma would be proud.

yeah harry's a decent guy doing his duty...

'Round these parts there are people who voted for Bush because they thought he'd keep gas prices low.

I'm just amazed that for once it wasn't the British media fucking up and leaking the news. What are the odds? Of course it's all over the news here, with Sky and the BBC and all the rest congratulating themselves on how well-behaved they were and how disappointing it is that 'foreign' media have to go and do this etc etc. So self-righteous, it's laughable.

But poor Harry. He must be so pissed. The MoD will have yanked him outta there so fast he'd have been a blur whizzing past the Taliban!

Oh, FUCK YOU world media. I mean, it's not like they're endangering anyone's life by leaking this story...oh wait. *headdesk*

I'm not condoning anything, but I have to admit, if I was the President, I probably wouldn't give a crap what you ham'n'eggers pay for gas, either. I'd be all "Uh-oh, look at the time, I'm late for my flight on Air Force One! Wait, how silly of me, they won't leave without me! Haw haw!"

In summary, I don't really expect Obama to fix this one. One look at the plane seat they mold specially for his ass, and he'll forget everything he learned about octane ratings.

True, I'm not sure I expect any of them to fix it at this point. But even if he doesn't know what the price of gas is doing because he's not filling a gas tank a few times a week, how do you miss what the price of a barrel of oil is doing when you're running a war in the Middle East?

Most of the price increase is actually due to China and India industrializing and realizing they can now afford something besides bicycles.

Good in the long run: higher prices on oil make alternative energies more attractive.

Okay, that much I'll give you. Especially on the alternative energies part.

I just have a really hard time buying that just when I thought everybody had heard just how bad the gas prices were going to be, it turns out that no, actually, the President missed out on that memo. Then again, it wouldn't be the first important memo he missed out on, so. *shrugs*

I need to get a pillow.

It makes banging my head on the desk repeatedly much more pleasant.

*sigh*
