Fox, did you see this?
Feb. 28th, 2008 09:27 pmOkay, dumb question, because you probably saw it when he said it, and saw the news story, and saw five thousand live feeds of it. Heh.
But I thought of you when I saw it, so:
'Big Brother' Contestant Fired -- But He Doesn't Know It
Big Brother contestant Adam Jasinski, who created an uproar when he referred to autistic children as "retards," has been fired by the United Autism Foundation. When another contestant on the show objected to his use of the term, Jasinski responded, "I can call them whatever I want, okay? I work with them all day." However, the foundation has posted a message on its website saying, "Mr. Jasinski will no longer work for or represent the United Autism Foundation since he caused tremendous damage to UNIAF." Last week, the Lowe's department store chain pulled its ads off Big Brother because of Jasinski's remarks. Jasinski himself has presumably not been informed about the controversy that his remarks touched off, since he remains cut off from the outside world within the Big Brother house.
Stay classy, assbag. (Reading what he said in response to the complaint made me think of Matt Dillon in There's Something About Mary. Ugh.)

And now, my current fannish status in what few fandoms I've been following lately:
Supernatural: All caught up. YAY. More now, please? (My candy has still not gotten there yet. Poor not-full-of-candy Jared. *pouts*)
Sarah Connor Chronicles: I am, like, five weeks behind, and it sucks. The fact that I'm behind on the show, not the show itself. Oh, man, I do not need another awesome show to get cancelled on my watch. I'm still stung from Journeyman, damn it.
Project Runway: Still haven't seen all of last night's episode. Not even sure I want to watch next week's episode since I've seen all the collections and am not all that sure I'd be over the moon with any of them winning at this point.
Top Chef: It starts in two weeks! Oh, man! I was watching the first season finale with Tiffani and Harold and oh, crap, can we do that season again? PLEASE?
As The World Turns: Honest to God, I'm thiiiiiiiis close to completely giving up on it. I love the boys but I haaaaaate everything they've done to them since ... oh, man, since Luke got paralyzed. Damn, that was MONTHS ago. And the Ameera thing? *headdesk* Can I abduct them? Can I take them off of this show and put them on a show where they might be allowed to have a decent storyline and a sex life? Can they move to California and get onto Brothers and Sisters?
The Office and Ugly Betty: I'm about four or five episodes behind on both. It's so sad.
Make Me A Supermodel: It's so like me that out of all of these, this is one of the few I drop everything for. Go figure.
