apocalypsos: (boo writing)

I got the dialogue for chapter nine done tonight, which sucks because I wanted to get the action for chapters seven and eight written instead, but is awesome because if I buckle down and don't slack off tomorrow, I might actually be able to turn in three chapters for once rather than two chapters and a "Damn it!". Heh.

And now I'm going to go to bed, because I have a ridiculous headache and I'd like for my brain not to explode before I can get any of those chapters written.

When you're writing just the dialogue, do you put in notes saying something like "action goes here" or something like that? And when you do the dialogue, do you write the whole scene, or literally just the speaking parts?

Inquiring minds, etc. :)

Literally, it's just like:

"Hello."
"Hey."
"How are you?"
"I'm great."
"This is kinda silly, isn't it?"
"Yup!"

Ah, thanks for the explanation. I find myself writing fragments of scenes but it doesn't really work if I try to plot the whole scene out and then write a bit at a time.
