Hello, my name is TP ...
Aug. 3rd, 2008 11:24 am... and I'm addicted to Project Runway.
See, you can tell because I'm watching Project Runway Philippines on YouTube right now. Three different versions of Project Runway running at the same time? Someone up there loves me and wants me to be happy.
Also, there was drinking and good times last night. Unfortunately there is work and bad times tonight. Le sigh.

Date: 2008-08-04 02:06 pm (UTC)Meanwhile, Blayne's trying to be Christian redux (... NO) and Suede's just acting like a moron. (And elsewhere on the set, gay boys are kissing and dating and being adorable and I kind of want to throw things every time I hear another outdated slang term out of Blayne.)

Date: 2008-08-04 02:29 pm (UTC)You have Helen spot on as well! While she makes me want to shake some sense into her sometimes, she is without a doubt very entertaining, and as a result I would have to say that I am enjoying the Aus version more than the US season at this point.
Seen as I have finally found someone else who squee's over the show I thought I'd ask, did you find it weirdly uncreative that the Aus show had another evening gown challenge in ep 4 when the first challenge was also glamourous evening wear? Granted the challenges were slightly different, but still.
And on the subject of the gay boys, why can't we see more of Daniel!! Wesley was kicked off way too soon for us to see any kind of interaction between the teo, so instead we are stuck with the entire shpw focusing on blayne and Suede, euck!

Date: 2008-08-04 02:42 pm (UTC)I mean, I'll admit Helen's a terrible designer. Remember Mario from season one? She's so fucking lazy. If she doesn't have to work she doesn't want to. I really want to see her make that "mediocre" comment this week, 'cause ... yeah.
And yeah, the Australia version's making me MUCH happier right now. It has Mark! Nothing can make me unhappy when Mark is involved. :)
I'm a little disappointed with the evening gown thing because seriously, this is the first season, yes? They have four seasons of PR USA (not counting this season), three of Catwalk, one of Canada, and I assume there are others I'm missing, and two evening gown challenges? Although I will give them credit for the car challenge. That was cool.
And oh, MAN, Daniel and Wesley. *swoons* They are SO adorable. Apparently they're planning a line together, which is awesome. And Daniel said in that article I picked up last night that you would be able to see on the show in the coming weeks just how depressed he was over Wesley going. Aw. AWWWWWW.

Date: 2008-08-04 03:00 pm (UTC)That is exactly my main issue with Suede! I mean I have liked his designs so far, and Blayne's have been... interesting.... not the worst to ever appear on the show.
The car challenge was brilliant! They mostly did such a great job with waht they were given. I'm looking forward to them having some more crative ideas for challenges.
And Daniel really said that?! Aww that is so cute. I'd be interested to know how it worked out between them getting together, because they were only on the show together for like 2 weeks...

Date: 2008-08-04 03:09 pm (UTC)Blayne needs to come in the bottom in a few more challenges. He needs the knock to his ego soooo bad, and he just doesn't seem to get that PR's like a job application for designers -- even the ones who get kicked out first get more attention out of the deal. And being annoying and not having anything to back it up ... that's not going to work.
Oh, they're still together! The article was brilliant. They knew as soon as they saw each other that they wanted to be together, and they only had five days of filming together, and they were holding hands and sitting with their heads close together and kept jumping away when the cameras were on them, and there's this:

Filipino as a language is a mixture of Spanish and Malay. If you're familiar with Spanish, you'll probably understand half of what they are saying. The other half will probably be Malay in origin. Unless of course it's slang-- then sometimes it can get really confusing. LOL.
If there's a part that confuses you, you can just ask me and I can explain. I'll be following this now. Hahaha.:-)

Date: 2008-08-05 09:45 am (UTC)Is that confusing? The Philippines is actually an archipelago, there are many languages. I noticed that 2 designers hit it off right away. They were from the same island so spoke the same language: Bisaya. Their other roommate didn't speak it so he felt kinda left out.
English is practically a second language for most Filipinos. It actually bridges a lot of communication gaps in the Philippines. Since a lot of the regions speak different languages, they often resort to English to understand each other.
English is a medium of instruction in most schools and I think the Philippines is in the top 5 largest English-speaking countries in the world. You could come for a vacation and you wouldn't have a problem being understood-- well unless you have a thick accent. Hehe.
So yes. Taglish is prevalent. :-)
Eeps. Didn't realize this had gotten soo long.
