I just spent most of the day curled up on my couch reading Hero by Perry Moore.

That was awesome. Both the book, and the curling up with one for a whole day, which I haven't done in far too long. Also, it made me cry really, really hard. Also also, I'm so asking for Hero slash for Yuletide. Mmm-hmm.

I'm debating whether or not to donate it to the local library. On one hand, I'm already bringing them Phyllida and the Brotherhood of Philander because God knows they're not going to order this stuff themselves. On the other hand, I really like this one.

I love that book! I bought it this summer on my trip to Europe and ended up re-reading it 6 times!! :D I know it's not a literary masterpiece, but it just totally fed into two of my main fantasies: having superpowers and having a healthy gay relationship. I'm so glad you enjoyed it! :D

That's a really, really good book. I know I added it to the list of books to order, but I think I got over-ruled content-wise by some of the older staff members.

Speaking of superhero books, you might want to check out Soon I Will be Invincible by Austin Grossman, which I also really enjoyed. Half the story is told by an established supervillain and the other half is told by an new superhero.

You know, I'm really happy to find people who loved Hero, too. A friend of mine read it before it came out and she pimped it HARD and I was super excited for it and preordered it and everything, but when it came out it seemed like all the reviews were only so-so, so I didn't have anyone to squee with about it. I actually have an extra copy and felt weird about offering it up to my friends list, but that's just because I have approximately a billion issues and am scared people won't like things I rec.

Anyway, I heart it. And I didn't want it to end. And Hero fic would make my year.
