Maddow's responsible for one of my new favorite election things: I caught part of her show the other night when she spoke with a reporter traveling with the McCain campaign, and they were talking about having compared the campaign to a Shakespearean tragedy. But now, the reporter said, it was as if McCain and Palin were in two different plays. McCain's like King Lear, where he seems to have lost it completely, but you feel sorry for him and "don't want him to die", whereas Palin is like--I kid you not, she really said this--"the villain in Titus Andronicus."
I nearly fell off my chair.
I'd worry about the reporter getting kicked out of the campaign coverage, but I doubt Sarah Palin's ever even heard of Titus A.
