... and they hire Robert Pattinson to stand in the corner of her room and be creepy until she moves out of her parents' house.

Yes, I've been watching Extreme Makeover Home Edition episodes. Again. It gives me something to watch while I finish the messenger bag I'm sewing.

If I see one more pink princess room I'm going to projectile vomit. And it'll probably be pink with sparkles. (There is something very wrong with someone whose username used to have the word "princess" in it and yet mocks pink princess bedrooms for little girls. It's a bit like me making blonde jokes even though I haven't been one since I was sixteen.)

The thing that always strikes us about those kiddy rooms is "what will the kid think of it in a year's time when absolutely all his or her tastes have changed beyond recognition?"

Assuming the new house hasn't fallen down by then, of course.

::shudders:: My hatred for pink princess rooms knows no bounds.

My sproglet likes pretty much every color, including pink, but her favorite color is blue. Basically, she has pink stuff, but it's part of a full range of colors in her room, just as she has some pink clothing, along with all kinds of other colors. It takes some work to avoid all pink, but it can be done.

hola

Yes, it can. I have a cousin who was something of both a good student and athelete thruoghout highschool and then played basketball in college.
When she got married and had her first daughter she was overheard to remark that how did I get such a girly-girl for a daughter.

Her oldest daughter, my second cousin, has a pink princess room but it too is part of the full range of colors just has clothing in a variety of girls. She just turned six now. Her younger sister, Ani, is two, and right now she does not have a favorite color.

Thanks and take care, karrenia

My daughter's favorite color is only blue because that's her best friend's favorite color :D

I've noticed that if we pick out a couple of shirts in different colors and let her pick the one she wants, she naturally picks a range of colors. What a concept!

Kat picks out her own clothing when she goes shopping for clothes too, and letting them select from a variety of choices saves the time of having to pick out something that they might not like and then you'll to go back and return to the store; easier on her parents in the long run, although her grandma might have other ideas..

My nephew, whose almost nineteen months, on the other hand, well since I get a discount on his clothing we tend to buy him stuff that's cute and it can be in a range of different colors.

Thanks and take care, Karrenia

I abos-fucking-lutely loath pink. When my oldest daughter was born in the early 90's, Pampers came out with pink diapers for girls and blue for boys. I purposely bought blue just to prove a point. Then I came back to my senses and just got the regular white ones.

Blech, pink princess rooms. If it absolutely must have a princess-theme, what's wrong with pale blue? Or yellow or purple or something. Come on people, think outside the sparkly pink box!

I bet he'd do it just for fun, provided she's not going to pounce him and tear him limb from limb while going "EDWARD HOMG EDWARD MARRY ME I'LL BE SUCH A BETTER DOORMAT THAN BELLA".
