URGH.

I'm horribly tempted to write a story showing just how bad Supernatural's in-canon treatment of fandom COULD have been, all things, con behavior, letter-writing campaigns, online wanking, and whatnot considered.

Instead I think I'm going to take a nap in my computer chair while watching the "Riding With Death" episode of MST3K again.

Oh, my God, you guys, I only JUST thought thanks to [livejournal.com profile] onelittlesleep to check when Merlin starts up again.

It starts on September 19th. That's in a WEEK.

WOOHOO BRADLEY AND COLIN ON MY COMPUTER SCREEN AGAIN! \O/

*

Here, I'm making up a meme: Five things about the spot where my computer is.

1. There are currently four scented candles on my computer desk -- two are maple sugar, one is pumpkin pie, and the other is hazelnut coffee. I like candles that smell like yummy food. :)

2. I have this post printed out and taped to the back of my desk, because it makes me smile.

3. I always have a bag of Cheetos tucked away somewhere on here.

4. I keep my curling iron, hair straightener, and hair dryer in the side compartment because I can sit here and do my hair while watching stuff on Google or YouTube or reading fic.

5. I have unlit Halloween candle with bats and pumpkins on the top of my desk all year round, just because I think they're cute.

I was supposed to get here how many days ago? *sigh*

That said, I plan on printing out the bits and pieces I've got of the last however many chapters I have to finish and doing what I normally do, which is tape the bits into a notebook and fill in the blanks where I don't have anything written yet. I do have an outline, it's just really basic. and the pace up until now has been ... well, not slow, just ... not faster, I guess.

I kinda want to take out The Grand Prize Winner tomorrow and bang it with a stick to see what falls out. I haven't touched it in a while and it feels bad knowing I've got a perfectly acceptable first draft on my computer and I haven't gotten past chapter six in the editing process yet. (Maybe seven? Close enough.)

I still have to figure out what I want to do for NaNo. I'm so TORN. I have a metric fuckload of ideas -- that's one thing that never goes away regardless of any writers block: my ability to brainstorm new story ideas -- but nothing really pops at me and says, "I could easily give you 50,000 words in a month." They're all clamoring to be written, they're just not clamoring to be written quickly.

That first line from the other day is still begging for an actual plot. Urgh. What's typical YA novel word count length again? I'm either going to turn that first line into a YA novel or get back to The Hollow Girl (also YA) or both.

If I could have anything for my birthday, it'd just be really nice if I could catch up on all of my bills.

*wince*

God, I hate figuring out how absolutely broke I am.

(Well, okay, a job would be nice, too. And a book deal, and a boyfriend, and my last couple of car payments finished off too while I am it. And throw in a pony, and now that I'm thinking of ponies, I want cupcakes. Fuck, while I'm making wishes, send Jared and Jensen over for me to play with as I see fit.)
