It was pretty much exactly what I expected -- it's a good thing I watched it at home, as I spent the entire movie skipping past the stupid Julie parts to get to the much more fun and interesting Julia parts. Seriously, Meryl Streep is a fucking wizard. How does she DO that? "Poof, I'm Julia Child!"

Aaaaand now it's back to what I haven't been able to start doing until now, which is that I need to edit five chapters and write as many words as possible by the end of the day, since I believe I've only written something like 2500 words this month. Ugh.

And now, a meme! Boosted from a couple of people, the fandom meme, which I'll do for SPN just 'cause.

01. The first character I fell in love with: Dean. It actually took a while for Sam to grow on me more than just casual approval.

02. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Jo. I actually had a lot of problems with her in the beginning because the writers very obviously had no clue what to do with her, and there was the thing where she kept fighting with her mom over hunting and I was all, "Oh, ffs, you are free and 18, MOVE OUT!", but then she DID and went off and somewhere during all of the Lilith and Lucifer nonsense (admittedly, nonsense I adore) the Harvelles were having a really interesting storyline and we MISSED it.

03. The character (most) everyone else loves that I don't: Oh, man, this is hard, because I really do sort of love everyone at this point. In relative terms I would say Anna (I like the character, but the actress bothers me for some reason) or Bela (was loving her as a character, even though the writers had a bad habit of dumbing down the boys when she was around, but haaaaaaaaated that ending and the reasoning behind her deal), but ... well, this fandom isn't known for its love of either character, is it?

04. The character I love that everyone else hates: Heh. Ruby, Bela, Castiel, Becky, Ellen or Jo -- take your pick.

05. The character I used to love but don't any longer: I tilt towards Bela on that one, mostly because for all of the things I loved about the character there were a number of things I hated as well after that last episode of hers aired.

06. The character I would shag anytime: Provided I could be guaranteed to buck the trend of dead fuckbuddies he's left behind in his wake, Sam.

07. The character I want to be like: Mary. Except perhaps not with the demon-dealing or lying-to-the-husband. I'll take the asskicking, though.

08. The character I'd slap: John. No question.

09. A pairing that I love: Dean/Sam, obviously. :D

10. Two pairings that I hate: I was going to type Ellen/Jo but I just couldn't. Bobby/John is a big squickfest for me, though. Actually, Bobby/anybody is a bit of a squickfest, really. Love the man, but ... no.

11. Favourite character: Mary. I just ... okay, you know what I would kill for? A show where John knew from day one that Mary was a hunter, and Mary never wanted to give it up. And somehow the two of them ended up hunting together, with Mary being the knowledgeable asskicker and teaching John everything she knows. I would watch the SHIT out of that show.

12. My six favourite characters: Mary, Dean, Sam, Jo, Ellen, and Chuck. Although that's with the understanding that that's a six-way tie for first, with second place containing something like a twenty-place tie. Heh.

13. My five least favourite characters: Hmm. Bela (I really hated that last episode), Anna (again, not a big fan of the actress), Zachariah (I hate the character, but then again I'm supposed to hate the character, so he's doing his job quite well), Ruby (mostly because I felt like Gen and Katie had competing styles in portraying her), and Bobby (and I love Bobby, but occasionally the boys use him as a crutch instead of doing their own research). But like I said, I'm very Pollyanna about this show in that I do love everyone. Now, if the writing staff were characters, then I'd have something ...

14. Which character I am most like: Sadly, Chuck.

15. My deep, dark fandom secret: I am secretly Clif. Tell no one. Or everyone. Your call!*

*I am not actually Clif.

So I ran up to help my brother e-file, and when he was done he started playing "Assassin's Creed II", which he just got today after his girlfriend won $3000 at the local casino and bought it for him. (Everybody else has all the luck, I swear to God.)

Anyway, I'm standing there listening to the voice of one character and said, "She sounds familiar." Another sentence later, and I said, "I think that's Kristen Bell." I went over to his computer to check and ding, ding, ding! I was right. :D

I'm telling you guys, I'm fucking accomplished.

I also volunteered to give my great-aunt "internet lessons" when she gets hooked up to it shortly. I have a lot more faith that she'll pick it up than my great-uncle, who spent twenty minutes today staring at me in awe as I torrented Bejeweled 2 Deluxe and set it up on his computer. My great-aunt's a bit more of a tech geek anyway, or at the very least more of a gamer, so I already foresee her becoming totally hooked on it and spending all day playing on Yahoo Games until she completely loses track of time and falls asleep at her computer desk.

Also, is it weird that I'm currently talking more with my old high school boyfriend now on Facebook than with anyone else? And that he changed his default photo to a picture of Johnny Depp with glasses and goatee and I honestly couldn't tell the difference when I first saw it? (To be fair, I think even he would admit he is no Johnny Depp. He is, however, someone who's always been very cute, and broadening up a bit and slapping on some facial hair does him wonders.)

Okay, back to editing. I had a bit of an epiphany before where I was like, "FUCK IT, WE'LL DO IT LIVE! I'LL JUST EDIT!" Seriously, trying to catch up to my word count expectations for January is just not going to happen tonight, and five chapters -- while daunting considering I've gone back to editing them on paper to make sure I'm catching it all -- is the one major hurdle I really want to get over on my to-do list.

This time last year, I had about 18k already. Another reason to get these five more chapters edited and out of the way, so that I can spend the rest of the week getting into a writing habit again.

Let me just say ... if the very first year I've ever had shiny new snow tires on my car, we never get more than three or so inches at one time for the entire winter?

I'm seriously not going to know whether to laugh or cry, since that was my big Christmas present and all.

EDIT: Okay, so my new theory is that my snow tires are creating an invisible dome over the Northeastern Pennsylvania region so that while everybody else is getting dumped on, only a few inches at a time are wriggling their way through and falling to the ground in a large radius around the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area.

I ... don't think that's how snow tires are supposed to help you drive in the winter. Well, unless tire manufacturers are entirely staffed by wizards and no one's bothered to tell me.
