apocalypsos: (i have immunity face)
I really, sincerely hate people who get annoyed by other people wishing their single moms a Happy Father's Day because they're not REALLY their fathers.
apocalypsos: (i'm just shilling my books)
I made a bet with myself on Twitter that goes a little something like this:

If I can get a celebrity to retweet a link to my book, I will donate $100 or 5% of all ensuing sales (whichever is greater) to charity, preferably a charity which helps GLBT teens kicked out of their homes for being themselves simply due to the themes in the book. (I just have to, you know, find one.)

And we're talking real celebrities, not "Internet" celebrities -- basically, someone famous enough that my parents would recognize the name. I honestly don't care who it is or whether or not they're simply famous for being themselves -- I've sent messages to Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian just for the hell of it -- but one retweet by one celebrity is enough. More celebrities, and I'll donate more money.

So basically:

Step One: Get at least one celebrity to tweet a link to my book.
Step Two: Start getting more people to buy the book.
Step Three: Poor traumatized homeless GLBT teens get a decent-sized check.

Feel free to tell people you know who might be able to get a celebrity to tweet a link to the book if you'd like. I've already tried Jared, Misha, Jim Beaver, Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian, Ashton Kutcher, Kevin Smith, Jessica Capshaw (since I physically based Vera on Sara Ramirez, who doesn't seem to have a Twitter even though her TV wife does), Seth Green, Felicia Day, Wil Wheaton, and Chris Hardwick, but no dice so far.
