... who hates McDonald's french fries? Like, with a passion?

See, I turned on the TV just now to catch Matt Lauer talking to some guy from Zagat's about their poll of fast-food places, and they were talking about who won best burger (Wendy's) and who won best coffee (Starbucks), and when they were talking about who won best fries, they said, "Oh, it wasn't even close," for McDonald's.

I haaaaate their fries. I'll eat them, because ... you know, they're french fries, and I can't have a burger without fries. But when I get them and they're cold, they're disgusting, and when I get them hot, they have this weird waxy taste to them no matter where I get them. I'd rather have Burger King or Wendy's fries, quite frankly.

Okay, if given a choice, I'd rather have Nathan's fries everywhere I go. And Sonic's drinks, and Burger King's burgers, and Joey's bacon double cheeseburger stuffed pizza. (Joey's is a local place that makes these yummy fancy pizzas. Aaaaaand now I wants one.)

Way back in the dawn of time (when I was in high school, lol) we had 3 fastfood joints in town: BK, McD, and A&W. We agreed (as groups of teenagers are wont to do), that BK had the best burgers, McD the best fries, and A&W the best drink (root beer, of course).

Then I growed up and for an incredibly short time I experienced the bestest fries in the whole wide worlds: Carl's Jr used to use riced potatoes and would extrude their fries. OMG. Crunchy on the outside, soft and creamy in the inside, and consistent as only pre-formed fries can be. Then they switched to real potatoes. The bastards.

Sorry, McDonald's fries are my crack. Although I did prefer them back when they were drowned in salt before all this business about trying to be "healthy". (French fries? Healthy? Really?)

I don't hate their fries, per se, but I definitely don't agree that they're the best. I was going to a burger/sandwich place the other day to get fries and one of my co-workers was all, "Oh, are you going to McDonalds? Their fries are the best!" And I replied, "Oh, no, going to the other place, I think their fries are much, much tastier." And she was, no joke, completely baffled why I'd choose to go to the other place over McDonalds. She even argued with me for a little bit, but she'd never even had the other place's fries!

I'm KFC or Red Rooster chips all the way. I hate those screwy little fries you get at McDonald's. And I'm sorry but I've never in my life gotten a good coffee at a Starbuck's - it's always either some foul, weak brewed shit from a jug or a weak, burnt latte. Ugh.

I can't McDonalds at all, it tends to make me very ill. I think they soak their fries in beef fat or something before they freeze them to give it a different flavor (which is why i think they had a problem bringing McDonalds to India and a number of other countries because of beef being against their religion).

I got burned out on their fries back when I was working at a McD's in high school. It got to the point where I wouldn't eat any fries that weren't curly, or that had a different seasoning on them (like at Popeye's).

Y'know whose fries I hate? Steak-N-Shake. They're puny-thin and not nearly as salty as they should be. They get cold too easily, which probably wouldn't happen if they were thicker.

I'm not a fan of fries, I like chips. It varies too much between locations and days to have a favourite but Lord Of The Fries consistently has the worst chips ever, Red Rooster has the nicest on average though.

The best coffee ever has to be Hudsons. =)

I actually love Applebees' fries, but BK fries are made by God, I swear. McDonald's fries taste like someone stepped on them. Or made them in an easybake oven or something.
