I want to go school shopping.

Okay, I don't actually go to school, but I want to go shopping like I used to at this time of year when I did go to school, and I'd get a couple of hundred bucks so I could get a whole bunch of new clothes and shoes and go buy a metric assload of school supplies just 'cause.

School shopping was the best thing about going back to school, damn it. Pens! Notebooks! New shooooooooes! \o/

EDIT: Also, even though the Underworld movies are questionable at best, Selene is fucking amazing and that doesn't change.

OMG! I LOVE shopping for school supplies. I even like how places like Staples and Office Depot SMELL... all that clean bright paper and untouched erasers....

I know exactly what you mean. I remember the first summer after I graduated from college - i had just moved to Arizona and was working in retail hell (aka Wal-Mart) and seeing all the school supplies get stocked and displayed...it just felt so WRONG to not be buying cool new pens and clean fresh notebooks and folders...I mean, I went right from HS on to college so I'd been going to school and getting new stuff every year since I was 5. I am still a sucker for bright shiny new and unusual pens, markers, etc!

PEECHEES! And I still love buying new pens and paper. I am now living vicariously through my daughter. I went home at lunch to drop something off and found that her new backpack had arrived. I was squeeing and it's not even my backpack. But it's fierce, will last for centuries, and has lots of gadget-y compartments, so how could I not be excited?
