Two other random things

-- I've come to realize that the reason they call that particular channel Discovery Health is because it's how you discover just how many people apparently slept through the classes on reproduction in their high school Health classes.

-- Every night at Wegmans they play this recording over the loudspeakers at regular intervals for shoppers and employees to take a "micro-stretch break" which I've yet to see anyone actually take. The recording in question starts with a sound that resembles a doorbell chiming, and I completely blame MST3K that every time I hear it, I say under my breath, "Ding, dong! Trick-or-treat for pantsuits!"

I think that's a corporate-wide thing because I've heard that recording in Wegmans up here in New York.

For some reason, the authorities at my middle school dedicated actual school minutes to telling us that people who care for each other sometimes hold hands.

Discovery Health will be gone come 01/01/11, alas (replaced with Oprah's new network). But I can guarantee that you'll be able to get your fill of "dear god, how stupid ARE these people" programming on TLC. You always can... ;)

Employees? Everytime I stopped to take a strech break at Subway, my insane manager would leap out of nowhere and be mad at me. And people wondered why I hated him.

His last name was also a word for what drunk people do, it fit his crazy.
