apocalypsosThe thing about PR this season is that they have -- completely by accident -- stumbled into a storyline which relates strongly to the current news stories of the day.
Michael C. is clearly being bullied, and has been the entire season. We've seen him break down, we've seen him in tears, and we've seen him emotionally wrecked by the callous treatment of the other designers. And following last night's display of Ivy whooshing back into the workroom and fine "mean girl" mode, we get a picture-perfect example of the sort of things that have been ending up as uncomfortable headlines the past few weeks.
What really bothers me about the cheating accusation is how much of it rests on Ivy. Let's look at the previous act of cheating we've seen on this show. Keith brought in pattern-making books. The others brought it to the producers ASAP and Keith was sent packing. What gets me about Tim's shutdown of the cheating allegations last night is that he made it clear that the producers, the cameramen (and there are a lot of them, God knows), and Tim saw nothing, and the designers got around to telling them "too late." How does that even work? If you know someone is cheating on a show at which $100,000 is on the line, how do you not tell someone as soon as you even just suspect something?
That's not even getting into the fact that the show keeps the dresses. They have the damn evidence IN THEIR FREAKING POSSESSION, so if they looked at the dress and they say Michael C. didn't cheat, he didn't fucking cheat.
But of course, Ivy is always right.
Honestly, I keep wondering how the other designers really think any of their treatment of Michael C., no matter how irritating or loudmouthed he might be, is helping them at all. It's like when Peach mentioned how Michael C. showed up saying he wanted his own reality show and how it turned everybody off, and all I could think was, "Yes, tell me more about how self-centered and attention-needy he is, person who willingly signed up for the same reality show he was on."
And then I saw people on TLo's blog ripping on him for calling Ivy a cunt and ... okay, look, it's a bad horrible loaded misogynistic word. It's also what I shouted at my own TV when she was smugging her way around the workroom looking for praise for being the miserable twit that she is, and *I* don't have the excuse of having been emotionally and mentally bullied by the selfish idiot for something like an entire month's worth of filming.
I'm just seriously glad that jackhole is gone as of last night, and that her Fashion Week decoy collection was an utter snooze that did nothing to prove anyone who thinks she's a talentless waste of lip gloss is wrong.
