A quick update
Mar. 18th, 2011 03:29 pm1. A cop arrived not long after I made a call to Progressive to check on me, and on the guy who stopped a few hundred feet in front of me, who apparently ran over the same thing I did and had a flat tire. The cop basically said he'd be writing it up as a road obstruction rather than an actual accident so it wouldn't go against my insurance, and said that my tire was probably the only real victim.
2. Then my dad arrived and established, yeah, the tire needed a change, and that should be enough to get me home. My tire looks like it ran over, like, three different things. The rim's dinged to hell, but there's a chance the tire place down the street can fix it.
3. I'm fine. I was crying right afterward, and if I would have remembered right after I pulled over I would have taken one of the alprazolam I had in my purse AND the Lexapro I had intended on taking with my lunch but forgot about. But once the cop said it looked worse than it probably was, I calmed down a bit.
4. My brother freaked. It was almost hilarious how many times he apologized. I was all, "Calm down, dude, I'm fine, it's not your fault, and it's not like I ran over YOU," but he was still sending me texts with frowny faces later on. I'm thinking I can finagle a free Chinese dinner out of this. (Okay, and maybe part of the cost of fixing the tire. But still!)
5. I took today off so I wouldn't have a reason to stress myself out. Er, that worked out well?
*headdesk*
