You know, I've got the notes for Titanic, and I've got the choice with three hours to kill before work of writing the review or doing notes for another movie and witing two Q&A reviews tonight. Sooooo I'm loading up Armageddon in the DVD player. What? If my brain wants to take notes, let it take notes. (Actually, they're more like scribbled snarky commentary, but whatever.)

Also, when I was trying to wake up a little bit ago, I went over to IMDb and looked through all of the Spider-Man 2 entries. Kind of funny, really, who they were considering for Doc Ock ... Ed Harris, Christopher Walken, Robert DeNiro, Chris Cooper, Sam Neill.

I'm sorry, but HELLO?!

I keep trying to imagine Robert DeNiro, and just ... just NO.

Oh, and Kerry picked Edwards. Works for me. :)

and you don't want to waste Christopher Walken on a role that he doesn't look the part of. I think alfred molina was perfect.

When they said Alfred Molina would play Doc Ock, I remember squealing, "OMG, that's so perfect!" A great actor, who looks like the character and isn't on the level to make huge, annoying demands, like DeNiro might have. (DeNiro in a superhero movie ...*shakes head*)

Plus, the mental image of Doc Ock breaking out in tunes from "Fiddler on the Roof" in between scenes amuses me to no end. :)

I can't picture DeNiro in a superhero movie either. He's too serious. Superhere characters have to have a certain amount of mirth and be able to make fun of themselves and the world that they exist in. I don't think he's capable of that.
I think the closest he's even been to any kind of fantasy would be Frankenstien's Monster, and we know how well that worked.

You're right-Molina was perfect in everyway.

DeNiro's gone down the tubes of late, in my opinion (Godsend . . . City By the Sea . . . WHY?). I can't forgive Walken for his involvement with Kangaroo Jack. Chris Cooper and Ed Harris are wonderful actors, but neither seemed physically right for the role. Sam Neill maybe, but he's not as good an actor as Molina.

i cannot see anyone but Molina in the role. I mean, he had to be for my layout, yes. Cause no De Niro in my LJ spot light, no mam.
