apocalypsos: (work sucks)

The auditor is coming here tomorrow to look at the room. The room, by the way, is still a disaster area, regardless of any attempt I make to organize it.

I may end up hanging myself with the crappy mouse cord. At least then, the stupid thing would be useful. *whacks mouse against the wall* But hey, at least I've got the best excuse in the world -- "I've only worked here four days." :)

Ah, chai latte. I hope you never go away. (If they try to send me back to the other station, that may be part of my argument in opposition. "You can't send me back there! The Starbucks is here!")

EDIT: [livejournal.com profile] anniesj has an important story to tell that you NEED to know.

nothing makes you fonder of something than the threat of having it taken away, right?

Something like that. It's got a bunch of yummy spices in it, too. I'm so addicted, it isn't even funny. :)

i was going to add that i know this feeling of you-want-to-take-this-away-no-i-suddenly-love-it-best very well.

but for a european the concept of chai (japanese) latte (italian) at an american coffee shop is rather strange :)

Date: 2004-10-27 11:13 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] spyderqueen.livejournal.com
chai isn't japanese. It's primarily considered indian. It's black tea with honey and spices (ginger, cinammon, vanilla, etc).

Cha is the Japanese/Chinese word for tea is all.

Thanks for describing it better. I can never remember exactly what's in it, I just know I'd pick a venti chai latte from Starbucks over at least one of my mother's cats and more than a few of my distant relatives.

Is this when I mention that I suspect one of the spices is crack?

Especially in the case of the Tazo Chai Creme

Indian? Which type of Indian language - Hindi? Tamil? Malayalam? There's about 50 Indian languages out there and they all sound different.

Bengali - which is somewhat similar to Hindi as they both derive from Sanskrit - calls it "cha" as well. Malay is "teh". I've always considered "chai" to be a modern invented word.

I meant that the drink is considered indian. I have no idea about the word.

I don't know I find it hard to belive. Perpahs if the original post had something about "Someone should shoot him" or something to that effect and someone got really snippy and did report her to the...who the hell would you even report it too?

I'm quite sure the serect service does take interst in such things (everytime Bush comes to town, the Edge gets a vist payed from them due to some comments made a few years back). I'm just a bit of a sectpic. Maybe becuase I remember someone claiming this during Clition and it turned out to be a hoax.

[livejournal.com profile] trollprincess, sorry for being snippy in your LJ. With everything Annie's had to put up with, the thought of her seeing accusations of "please, you just made all of it up" if she came over here made me rather... peeved.

Hey, dude, cool if this person's your friend, and I personally believe [livejournal.com profile] anniesj, because America is one fucked up country, but can you see how people wouldn't?

I'm sure the Clinton person had friends as well. [livejournal.com profile] kijikun has a point.

Keep calm.

From: [identity profile] miggy.livejournal.com
It seems like common decency to not call her the liar in the journal of someone who [livejournal.com profile] anniesj has friended. I'm perfectly calm; witness the lack of exclamation points and swear words and assumptions about the person's mental state. I know people are free to believe or disbelieve, but again... common friend. Common decency.

*grins* Fair enough. But I do so like playing devil's advocate! Especially when I can't sleep. =.=

So, for the sake of it, let us say that perhaps what is 'common' to you, is not 'common' to others. And that you did not put forward any arguments to establish [livejournal.com profile] anniesj's innocence in your comment, and thus did nothing to change [livejournal.com profile] kijikun's thinking.

Something about the icon made me think you were rather angry though *taps chin* I don't know what it was... a picture's worth a thousand words, after all.

Note: I am being a prat, and not at all serious. Nor do I ever expect anyone to be to me. Just in case you couldn't tell ;)

From: [identity profile] miggy.livejournal.com
If you're simply playing the devil's advocate, then I must respectfully bow out of the conversation. I'm really not up for the exchange at the moment and wouldn't be able to give your logic the consideration it deserves.

Okie dokie. But I'd suggest not looking around at the places this is being posted if your friends with [Bad username or site: anniesj' @ livejournal.com], cause a lot of people are saying it's bunk, and that'd be riling.

It's certainly their prerogative to do so. I'd just hope they wouldn't do so right in the journals of someone she has friended. It's... crass.

Yes. The world so lacks a bit of dignity now and then.

Especially when they think it's funny to report people to the FBI. O.o

I'm sorry if I've upset anyone, I was just voicing my doubts since Trollprincess is a friend of mine too.

I have a sceptical nature and I've seen too many people post/say things that have turned out later to be flase or not the whole turth. I'm not calling your friend a liar, I'm just stating what I feel.

I can't remember if the post said this or not, but your friend really should get in contact with the local news media also and some internet news sources. If it is the turth (and I'm not saying it is or isn't), it needs to gotten out there to more people that LJ can reach.

PS. Trollprincess I am sorry for this, I didn't mean to upset anyone.

One of the nifty provisions of the second Patriot Act involves the ability to get info from ISPs without them even being allowed to notify their users that said info was reqested or given, IIRC.

I can voice my doubts thank you very much. I don't know your friend and I have the right to be sceptical. As I pointed out I don't know the detials, what was said, or what postion she might hold in her school/work/church/civic group.

I have a FBI file myself. You know why? My dad burned his draft card, and his frist wife was a communist.

Eeep, the secret service thingy is scary!

I avoid these dangers by wishing, as an alternative to death and dismemberment, a highly-uncomfortable and at the same time not-discussed-in-polite-society ailment upon our current political leaders. Like public lice, for instance.

Date: 2004-10-28 10:02 am (UTC)

damn. *Pubic* lice. As opposed to lice that are active in the community, or owned commonly, or something. Obviously I need more coffee.

I don't blame the Secret Service or Bush at all in this case, because a threat to the President has to be investigated regardless. I blame the asshole who decided to take Internet satire as a serious threat. What a moron.

Date: 2004-10-28 11:39 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] wiesbaden.livejournal.com
I haven't read the actual post, since she's taken it down - was she actually saying something to the effect of 'I'm gonna kill that s.o.b.', or was this a situation that could have been resolved by the Secret Service folks just reading the post and seeing it for the satire it was? An actual home visit seems bizarrely (and yet, unsurprisingly) inefficient. Though perhaps my concern for his safety is tempered by my opinion of they guy...

And yes, the snitch is a moron. What a wanky thing to do - and very much a crying-wolf sort of thing, since chances are sooner or later someone's probably going to make a threat they mean, and the Secret Service folks will be off having tea with another lj person who happened to piss somebody off. Ah, stupidity.

Date: 2004-10-28 11:47 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] apocalypsos.livejournal.com
No, it was just a frustrated prayer, i.e. "Dear God, please make Bush drop dead." Which is a little harsher than my usual "Dear God, make him go away." I don't want him dead, personally, I just want him to go away somewhere else.
